Thank goodness her grandchildren will still be taken care of. At least her family will have that small consolation. It sounds like this man was consumed by jealousy...surely he knew he would never get away with it. What an evil individual!

This sad excuse of a man let his greed take over and an innocent life was lost all over money probably. At least the Grandchildren will be taken care of. This is so sad

what??? why, because she didn't take the lump sum payout and blow her winnings in a few months? how does that correlate to a mental illness anyway? perhaps we are dealing with a mental deficiency here.
and btw it sounds like this poor lady had a very generous spirit, since she was more concerned with her families future well being than with living it up and letting them fend for themselves.

The lady should be admired for being frugal with her winnings.I often wondered if the Lottery payments stopped after the winner dies.....

Living by meager means should be regarded as smart. Everyone has the right to live the way they want, not how YOU feel they should live. This woman enjoyed living the simple life and did not go crazy after winning. Taking the payments was smart (and you receive the entire amount over time) and thinking of her grandchildren is even better. She sounds like a perfectly good and smart person. Too bad her choice in men was her demise. He wanted what HE felt was his cut of HER money. May the loser receive death.

What a shame. She had four children of her own and when she won the money set up a trust fun for her grand children, they will get the money.
Her boyfriend was their when she got the big check, he's seen helping her hold the check. I guess greed just got the better of him.

Money might not always make you happy, but for some it does, and this lady was trying to make a good life for her grandchildren. I hope the ex-boyfriend gets the death penalty for killing her.
