larue county is a disgrace every few months its either the jail , the mayor , now a constable. its so screwed up only sociopaths will run for elections . no jobs ,restaurants ,24 hour immediate care or clothing stores its almost insane the birthplace of lincoln is virtually uninhabitable . we do have nepotism in the schools so there family members keep jobs . i hope someday larue county gets gobbled up by hardin county because all larues commerce is spent in hardin county everyday .

Certainly corrupt there. They need to go to Severns Valley church and cure all ills. While they're there, they need to go to driving school cause they can't drive worth shit. REDNECK!!!

Jeff Metcalf has problems anyway. He never needed to be a constable but neither does Ira Bloyd. They are both screwups and do not need a badge. Atleast bobby Shoffner didn't hire Metcalf as a sheriffs deputy. Why does everything seem to revolve around Bobby Shoffner and Russell McCoy? And why didn't they sheriffs go arrest Metcalf or go help the state police? Does any of them do any thing right? The only thing missing was our mayor and it would be a full circus with clowns.

why would anyone run from the state police just because they wrote a bad check? hmm, kind of makes you wonder. and yes, his house was foreclosed upon. it was in the paper, being sold at auction. i guess he could have saved the taxpayers some money and just arrested himself!! lol..

I wonder if the constable association or the the fraternal order of policemen will hire him a lawyer? Or what they would say about mr Metcalf and his running from the real police while carrying his gun.

its a larue county problem really , the only place kids can go is the ballpark the bathrooms are falling in they have to close the pool because of money . the mayor and his sidekick run rough shot over anyone who needs city service trying to charge good people water and sewer fees because they cannot collect from the renters or the nonpaying customers. i wish people would get with the realtors and landowners and title search companies and listen to the horror stories about city hall and contact [the wave trouble shooter] it would win an emmy it is the most corrupt thing in this state . then throw in the jail story ,the 3 new schools for the whole county being a rock throw from each other someone got lucky in that deal. superintendent being given his job by his father nepotism is destructive . johnny will fix the jail , good bless roger truitt to really descent guys they really tried to help . city council needs to oversee mayor cruse and lovely side kick . we are the only county without a hospital or even a 24 hour immediate care facility but we do have a big ass nursing home just because we are to old or out of mind to object to the ludicrous leaders they will take care of u for cash. WONDER IF LINCOLN CAN SEE A TV WHERES HE IS AT AND SEE HIS hodgenville MAKING THE NEWS . maybe he is glad everyone thinks he was born in springfield illinois .

I'm constipated. From your point of view, it must be the Mayor's fault. Remember, the citizens on this county elected Mr. Metcalf constable, not the Mayor of Hodgenville. Sounds like you have a serious beef with the Mayor. Why don't you run for the job?

Obviously this was a set up and those who think you know it all about Jeff need to mind your own business. I am his woman and I was there and know the truth. He did not run from the police and he was not armed. Why would they send KSP out for a stupid check anyway? It was ridiculous how the KSP handled this.... showing their own stupidity. They locked me in a HOT cruiser for two hours and just took over like idiots. The system is a bunch of bull and most not all of Larue Co. sheriff dept are corrupted. Jeff is great person and would help anyone who needed it. So those who judge and ridicule him will reap what you sew. This was a MISTAKE on the KSP's behalf and they are trying to cover their tracks!!!!!!

Yea, your are right. The state police don't serve warrants or arrest people. And secondly Jeff didn't run. He slipped and fell into the basement, out the back door and into the woods for two hours while 6 troopers looked for him! We are sorry that everyone messed up from the people that took the warrant for the bad check, the county attorney and judge for issuing a warrant, the state police for serving the warrant. Sounds to me like Jeff has found his perfect match. Maybe you are just a stupid as he is. They should have taken you to jail too for lying for him. I hope you two don't reproduce with all that ignorance running around the house.

Overall I think Metcalf is a pretty good guy. I don't think he's a gun happy nut or anything like that. Why did he run from police? Thats hard to say. I know from what I've read he's been through quite a bit lately. He's a decent carpenter and when the economy went sour, so did his work. Then the mortgage couldn't be paid, his family splits apart and so on. Maybe the pressure of everything built up and he didn't know where to turn.

He should probably give up the constable's job, try to get his bad check(s) straighted out and move on with his life.

I think we should all go to court with him. Then when he tries to explain that he didn't run and it is all a big mistake we all smile at him. It's all a conspiracy against him because he was the biggest and baddest cop around. Wonder if him, Darst, Bloyd, Cruse, Brownfield and McCoy will put out their own calenders this year?

All I can say is "the apple does'nt fall far from the tree". If you re-collect, his ole man was arrested while he was constable a few years ago also.
