Mr. Lancaster sounds good "on paper" so hopefully, if selected, he will be able to use his experience and expertise to break through the self-centered/personal agenda type politics this town has become famous (or infamous) for. Let's hope for light at the end of the tunnel.

I am sure an audible gasp was heard when people saw Lowell Richardson as one of the finalists for the Administrator position. It looked as if the fix was in and that the executive search firm was nothing more than a front to legitimize hiring Richardson. After all, we narrowed it down to a small pool and he made the cut each time... But wait! Someone apparently has a backbone and just said no.

The town needs someone outside of the facility to come in and share a few inconvenient truths with them. It has been a succession of one chair warmer after another since Gary Klaphake left. Widmer,Repola,Halburnt and Richardson(interim)? Not exactly the cream of the crop.

You hit the nail on the head. Good commentary. Lowell Richardson is a heady putz.

On another thread someone was petty enough to not only disagree with my opinion but to comment on my excessive use of exclamation points. No more. I promise. Never again.

I assure you that I am not the same person as EPMom,Help or any others.

Perhaps Mr.Lancaster being hired is also the Board's way of saying that they are no longer going to sit passively while the Town staff ram-rods their own agendas through.

I would not be surprised if you saw a few higher ups shown the door during all of this. Who better than an outsider to call the managers in and ask them what they have done to justify their continued employment? The actions and attitudes of some of the ones in the Public Works Department(just ask any female who has worked as a secretary in that wing of the building over the last 6 years) are disgusting. Look at the track record of the Director of Public Works.

These people act as if the sunshine laws are a mere suggestion and that the public's business is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! Go back and watch the video of how the mayor silenced a member of the public who wanted to comment on the need to seek an administrator from outside the Town talent pool. And in a truly Orwellian twist the Mayor said that public comment was OK as long as you more or less had positive things to say. It's like declaring everyone who disagrees with the war on terror an enemy combatant.

I hope Mr. Lancaster is not afraid to stand up for what is right and start firing from the top down.
