I don't get it- DNA shows them as the parents - but they say their not --so nothing is going to happen to the parents?????

I have had 3 kids and I can tell you that YOU KNOW when you are pregnant and you have to know when you are giving birth. She should be sterilized and so should her husband! Prevent any "not" pregnancies from happening again! She will get what is coming her way.

Should they not even get a neglect charge? This way od. If not charged w/ murder, they should both be sent to a mental institution...both parents deny parenting this baby yet DNA proves its theirs...nuts

Were these "parents" known around town. If the case had been relocated to a more neutral territory, there may have been a different outcome. How can they be innocent when DNA prove paternity. Hmm, I smell a fish.

we have to look at the jury members here. were they on crack or related or what? If the dna evidence alone wasn't enough to convict, what did they hear or see that made them question their guilt? let's hear from a jurior or someone in the court.

Are these people slow?? Honestly, do they have developmental delays?? Was the baby born alive, if so I cannot imagine that there was no conviction. I guess I would like to know more details.

From the location of this town and the size of it, seems like this was a hick town where everyone knew everyone so it could very well be easy for them to get away with what I call murder. This doesn't add up.

I use to live in LaPorte and this scares the hell out of me!! Not guilty?? If we can use DNA to free prisoners how is it that we can't use it to convict the guilty?? How can those people claim they are not the parents when DNA proves otherwise??? Would love to know what evidence they based their decision on!

They could have examend the woman to find out if she was pregnant befor this. They have not said who the baby belonged to or how the baby got there. You have only told part of this story,we want to know some facts.

I was just thinking the same thing...remember OJ? He had the dumbest jurors out there and he's walking free today.

Think about it........why would it be murder just because the child was "born". No charges at all if the child is "aborted".

I guess these jurors were not properly advised and/or educated regarding DNA results. How could anyone in their right mind not convict this woman. Regardless of whether or not the child was born alive or stillborn, she had a responsibility to report the birth and handle the death appropriately!!! I agree with most of the people above. Small town, everyone knows everyone, shame on the legal system for letting this happen. God bless the soul of this child. As for the Parents, they will likely rot somewhere later in life or after.
