I think that the Alkali Lake waste dump issue is an insult to anyone with half a brain! The Eastern Oregon residents are forced to live with the consequences of this mess that the State has inappropriately allowed to be left to possibly pollute the entire eastern and western Oregon ground water supply. Those involved in this fiasco should be fined and fired and this mess should be immediately cleaned up in order that the cancer rate in Christmas Valley, Eugene, and Lakeview may fall to less than twice the rate of the rest of Oregon.

How can any reasonable person just sit and let this horrible situation continue in Alkali Lake????????? I thought civilized people ran the state of Oregon!!! This seems like the dark ages for people to sit and debate such a serious issue while the lives of innocent Americans remain at risk. Who had the right to sell and bargain away the health of the local people in that area anyway????? Even Eugene Oregon has a high rate of cancer, and could that be coming from that dump through a vein since the flow is westward. Wake up people and revolt against this!!! The whole State Of Oregon needs to stand up and demand the President to step in here and stop this stupid debate. Vietnam officials are smarter than these local politicians. They know the dangers and are not trying to play dumb.

This is plain and simple hickville Genocide. Obviously those responsible for this outrageous act think that country people are stupid, dispensable beings that have little value in the world. To place this toxic waste dump 35 miles away from a small town, in a scenic route area violates my sense of hope for mankind, not to mention the current debate on how to handle the situation now that we "know" the harm to humans and animals goes beyond words!!!!!!!!!!

This situation in Alkali Lake Oregon in insane! Water runs deep and veins can spread to contaminate very large areas. Whose to say that that toxic waste dump is not contaminating the whole eastern and western Oregon from Alkali Lake to Florence Oregon. The flow is Westward. You people who live anywhere West, South, or North need to rise up and demand that something be done about this waste dump. And those responsible for its creation and those responsible for delaying clean-up should be locked up and the key thrown away!!!!!!!!!

There were 9 million gallons of Agent Orange used in Vietnam during the whole war. 1.4 million gallons were dumped in Oregon. Birth defects continue to effect the poor people in Vietnam. Are you people who could be effected just going to sit quiet and not get outraged over this situation in Alkali lake. Anyone who owns land in that area should be compensated for damages and this mess should be cleaned up!!! NOW, no more debate.

To live 35 miles away from a toxic waste dumb is seriously harmful to anyone effected. The government, both locally and federally is responsible in keeping people safe. The ultimate responsibility lies in the government is those responsible for the act are too irresponsible for clean-up. End of Story!

This must be a sign of the end of the world. When basic common sense leaves those in charge and they let this kind of atrocity continue.

Is our health and sanity so insignificant to those in charge? This scares me to no end. When will people wake up to the atrocities just outside their backdoor. People you have the power. This is not an unfortunate event just effecting those poor people in Christmas Valley. Who knows what waterways are being contaminated North, West, and South of Christmas Valley? Bend, Redmond, La Pine, Eugene, Lake View, Summer Lake, Silver Lake, Klamath Falls, Florence, Corvallis, Salem, and every place in between! Rise up and voice your outrage!
