The people who supplied the alcohol should be held fully accountable -PERIOD. Too many parents supply alcohol to children - yes, at 16 they are just children!- under the guise of "It's ok as long as they're doing it here in my home." However, this was not the case here. I don't know who these two adults were. It really doesn't matter - their actions led to the death of a child, directly or indirectly. Teen brains are not fully developed - it is not until one reaches their early to mid-twenties that the brain is fully developed enough for judgment to control risk-taking behaviors. When my children were teenagers and had friends over I put all alcohol in the basement (behind a locked door) because, no matter how "good" the kids are, you never know what they may be inclined to do. If a child had shown up at my home with alcohol I would have first called their parents and then the police!
These parents have lost a child. They are not responsible in any way for the way in which he died. I'm sure they will second-guess many things for the rest of their lives without someone saying they are to blame.
Those who supplied the alcohol should be prosecuted and hopefully it will begin to send a message to other adults. My sympathies go out to this family. What a tragedy.

Unfortunately, the man responsible for this death was only given a fine. James Lamontaigne purchased the alcohol and gave it to the boy. This is not the first time James has contributed to a minor, in fact, he got his oldest daughter hooked on meth when she was about this boys age. James received a freaking pat on the hand for contributing to this boys death. A $500 some odd fine. He is out of jail (for meth) now, living in Lebanon, and no doubt contributing more. It's disgusting.
