That is an old wives tale. Dogs bite for different reasons. Someone being in their territory. Feeling threatened. Protecting their owner or their space. Whatever. And just because a dog bites one time does not mean they will bit again just because they have tasted blood.
You are absolutely correct. That is the biggest bunch of BS I have ever heard and nothing but a straight out LIE. The "first taste of blood" crap is just that crap.

Call all of the media here in town and see if one will do a story. Keep notes on who you talk to and see if they can find out why AC refuses to do their job. Also take pictures of the pit bull running the neighborhood. Also make sure AC takes a report and sue for the vet. bills. Take pictures of your dog injury too. It is a proven fact that once a dog starts attacking other dogs they will go after people too.
Dogs learn what they are taught. Dogs do not attack just to have something to do, not even pits...I have owned many dogs over the last six decades and have yet to own one that would bite anything. I have a Grt Pyr and G Ret right now and 8 cats...all rescues but one cat and the dogs learn from their leader and in this case that would be me. Dogs need attention, discipline and love...they give what they receive, plus so much more in love. No, even the smallest dog can and might bite if not taught how to behave. We are the leaders, we must teach them, we must be responsible for them, there are leash laws and they are enforced if you just keep with it.

The police typically want nothing to do with animal control isssues unless someone dies. We are typically put in the position of either taking care of the problem ourselves or learning to deal with it. I live in the county so things are a bit easier. I shot a pit bull IN MY OWN CARPORT a little over a year ago. The dog was disposed of and when the owner came looking a few days later....I never saw the dog. Animal control is useless even in the city. Shot them if they are on your property and get rid of them. If they buy more dogs, you buy more bullets. Run them over if you see them in the street. Leave them some Preston dog treats. You start killing every single dog the allow to run free eventually they will give up.
I agree! Get rid of these mutts!!!! Every single solitary commercial on TV has a stupid mutt in it with it's mouth hanging open and all that brown slime all over it's hair. Makes me feel like gagging. Every dumb idiot watching thinks, oh! I gotta get a dog, duh!! Get rid of the commercials that have mutts in them and get rid of pet shops with live animals. Impose laws that say only a certain amount of dogs in each town. I'm so sick of dogs!!!!
