Music historian wishes to contact descendants of Beckham Garland (1902-2000), Charles Garland (1904-89), or James L. Garland (1906-2005) of Knox County. I believe these may have been the Garland Brothers who made recordings of sacred songs in 1928, together with a Mr Grinstead, probably Charles H. Grinstead (1876-1950) of Knox and Whitley Counties. If you have any information or can provide contacts, please email me: <tonyrussell@bluetone.demon>. Thank you. Tony Russell, London, England

According to their family, the Garland brothers Beckham, Charles and James did not make up the singing group I am looking for. If anyone has information on other Garlands from the Knox/Whitley/Laurel tricounty area who may have been in a gospel singing group in the late 1920s, please contact me. Thank you.
