"An attorney who specializes in fathers' rights has criticized the fliers, saying it could hurt children to see their parent on a "wanted-style" poster."

Could it hurt them any worse than not having any money to live on? If they parent is not paying their child support, the kid probably isn't ordering many pizzas.

I am glad to see other areas of the country are pursuing these deadbeat dads because here in Tennessee the Child Support "Enforcement" (what a laugh)could care less. I must call them 4 or 5 times a week. I even do their job for them telling them that my ex has quit his job and flaunts it. They won't so much as take his driver's license away. The Child Support "Enforcement" in this state is a real joke. That is another government dept that is getting paid with my tax dollars to do "absolutely nothing".

I am glad to see that some Child Enforcement Agencies across the country are doing their jobs and pursuing deadbeat dads. The agency here in Tennessee is a joke. I must call them 4 or 5 times per week and give them the information that they should be finding out themselves to pursue my 3 kids deadbeat dad and even given the information they still sit and do "absolutely nothing". This is a case of another government agency sitting on their duffs and just collecting their paycheck. My ex has learned how to work their system and I try to provide them with information to catch him at it.....they just could care less and brush me off with each call. The Tennessee Child Enforcement Agency is absolutely worthless....and really should be ashamed of themselves for stealing their paychecks.

My ex-son-in-law got into drugs and ran off with his druggie girlfriend, leaving my daughter to support their little girl. He has not seen this child for over 5 years and everytime child support services find him, he quits his job so he won't have to pay his child support that was ordered by the courts. I am happy that she found someone that loved her and her child. She no longer has to work 2 jobs to support them. She has gotten $75 in the last 5 years from this dead beat dad.

How many of the crying moms have denied visitation to these DAEADBEAT dads? To a degree I dont blame dads for not paying. AND YES I can post an educated comment I was a single parent to raise a son and now am married to a man that pays his child support even thought his ex will not let us see his son.

I hope you don't mind me asking but how is it possible for her to keep the child from you and your husband if you have a court order visitation schedule? Child Support and Child Custody are two entirely separate issues. I know how you feel, my husbands ex knows that the system favors the custodial parent and she uses that to her advantage in every possible way! He has ALWAYS paid his child support and is a wonderful father and it really is a shame that people like this are allowed to manipulate the system.

we go, shes not home.. if shes home her parents make it impossible.. we go to the police, this causes more stress for this child as the mother screams awful things at us and its a mess. We are crying, she is crying and cursing and the child is hysterical... and the courts will do NOTHING to assist us in an easier exchange of this poor BABY

Bless your heart, I know all too well how you feel...backed into a corner!! I am so sorry! Like I said, it is terrible that the system allows this to go on. I know it's hard but remember...every dog has their day! The "mother" won't always have this hold over you guys. Best of luck to you, I sincerely hope the situation improves for you and your husband. I will keep you in my prayers.

They shouldn't be separate issues. If the custodial parent won't allow court-ordered visitation as scheduled, the other parent should be able to stop paying child support.

When will people learn that one has nothing to do with the other. If he want s to see his child that can be arranged using the court system, he should not be denied that right. Unless she has a "just" reason. But child support and child visitation are not the same.

im 17 my mom has filld out child support pappers about 15 to 20 times and every time they send a letter back saying theyve exhausted there search so now that im 17 bout to turn 18 i told my mom to fill them out this one last time . i searched around the internet and found out that my dad has been to court about 60 times since i was 10 years old and is now on probation until 2011 i called the nashville probation office and they gave me my dads probvation officers name and number to help me do what child support is supposed to do (and they dont they really are a joke you really do have to do there job for them) i also found my dad on myspace going by a fake name. so i got the most recent pic he had taken and sent all of it to them. also he ried to kidnap my lil sister i didnt even know about until she was 5 they could have caught him then but of course they didnt. so its been about a month and a half now and they still havnt called but i called them today and the lady i talked to got snobby and told me she wouldnt tell me anything cuz im the child. so i told her if they dont do there job as soon as turn 18 ill sue my dad and have the money for myself and my mom and child support wouldnt get a dime so they wouldnt have to take out of there precious time to do her job i didnt get to say much else she said something and hung up on me so basiccaly it comes down to tennessees child support people are a real joke they dont do anything but kick back and relax

Oh my gosh, how could anyone make an excuse for not paying child support man or woman? There is no excuse. I can't believe the men out here who just want to constantly raise hell, they really want to get out of child support. Non support by man or woman, makes you a bum, plain and simple and shouldn't have any visitation. Men's rights , Men's right, they have the right to bitch and everyone is supposed to cow down to them.. But if a woman complains she's a bitch, I'm sick and tired of this double standard. Always blaming a woman, maybe these men should have had vasectomies.....so they wouldn't have to pay child support. Ridicoulous grow up, I am not offended by supporting/providing for my child.

Tn child support is a joke, and the fed's need to step in here, either tn steps up to the plate or they should loose federal funding. The unemployment office is no better, way to many offices and state employees not doing their job here. I live in tn.

WHy would you want to visit a child you don't care about enough to support????? If you cared you would be paying child support right? The law should revert back to if your 3 or more weeks behind visitation stops, I bet child support collections would pick up. Savig the state of TN from coffers, ie people making their way poorly off the state of tn with aid, food stamps, and housing, all that could be a lesser burden on the state, if child support was enforced.

You hit that nail on the head. I am currently fighting for child support and therefore we don't go out to eat. Once in a great moon we will order pizza. With gas being so much we don't really go much of anywhere.

Maybe the kid could just ask their momma why she got knocked up and didn't marry daddy. Or why she married somebody she didn't know and then got divorced. Either way - the momma has to show some responsibility. Everybody wants to totally blame the father and act like the mother didn't have anything to do with it. Maybe she should have asked herself if she could support a kid if she got pregnant. Or learn how to use birth control if she is unable to keep from sleeping around.

Here's a good one.. my sister's husband's ex-wife, not only has kept both of her kids back a year in school, (ostensibly to collect an extra year of child support),but she's never even attempted to work a day in her life.. had two kids by two different fathers to collect support...I don't get any of it.. I really don't. She had kids by two losers who aren't broke out with working (my brother-in-law included) and she doesn't feel the need to work either.. White trash, white trash, white trash.. that's all you can say. Forget the man.. I don't see why any woman would want to have kids you can't financially take care of. That's it in a nutshell.
