Obviously, you never served your country, or watched a comrade die.
These people made sacrifices, so you would have the freedom of speech, to tell him to "Get over it". Sad.

I was in both "Nam" and "Storm",...And, unless you have crawled around in the swamps in 'Nam with a close buddie,...only to have to pick pieces of his brain matter or intestine off of your M-16 a few seconds later, you really should think twice about telling a vet to "Get over it". You "got over it" because you saw on T.V. that the war was over, & you turned the T.V. off. These vets will live the horror through flashbacks,...Many, for the rest of their lives. I can't make you understand. You have to experience it firsthand. I can only hope that someday you'll realize the human losses that were made, just so you could say, "Get over it".

Dear Shocked 1,
"get over it". Hardly the way to treat someone who went to war for his country. I'm guessing that you were not around during Viet Nam. It was an extremely difficult time for people in our age group. Most of the young men who served did not have a choice because they were drafted. Believe me, many of the men who served suffered medical problems that they will never "get over". Remember that the veterans who have served have kept it possible for people like you to be able to freely express their thoughts. They not only deserve our thanks, but also our respect.
