Proposed Kemper County 'clean' coal plant: Why opponents object

Mississippi Power Company says it needs to build a $2.2 billion, 582-megawatt 'clean' coal gasification plant in Kemper County in anticipation of increased future energy demands and to protect against rising natural gas costs.

I cannot believe AARP is in the middle of this.
My power company has sent out a notice in every
bill as to what "cap and trade" will do to out
electric rates. Wake up folks. Washington is also
pushing for electric cars. If cap and trade passes,
the price of gasoline will pale compared to what
it'll cost to plug in your car! Perhaps it's time
to buy into candle-making companies?
