I just recently saw stories similar on Oprah. I think schools need to get the word out more on what can happen, maybe a flyer home to parents with signs

My son passed away from this same activity. He was 15 our "coroner" ruled his death a suicide without having a completed police investigation. And the County Attorney and Police Chief dont believe this is a issue that needs to be addressed in our community. Kids know how to play this game. It is becoming more risky because they are doing it alone.

I agree something needs to be done to make it sink in the kids head that this is not something they should ever try. That the only outcome is eventually death. It seems that the age is getting younger and younger. I would never have thought of a 9 year old knowing how to do this but it is happening and needs to be addressed. My heart goes out to the parents and family of this boy and the families of the children in the past who have lost there lives to this "choking game".
