Why did it take 8 police cars to chase an unarmed man out of the city limits because of suspicious activity? Why not shoot out the tires of the truck instead of opening fire on an unarmed man? Charleston police have always been corrupt.

I think these cops are cowards her anyway,...they are afraid to come to certain parts of town, and will roll like 5 or more cars deep, and it takes about ten of them to answer a call,....I was told one time by a cop that they needed to know some type of info I was reporting, I dont remember what it was, but I remember them saying something like if that person pulled a cell phone out of their pocket, they didnt want one of their officers accidentally shooting them, thinking it was a gun......so that tells me right there, they will shoot before they know what they are shooting for.....are they scared or unproperly trained....I dont think that poor women derserved to lose her son, and they guys dont deserve to get to keep their jobs...

my point exactly,....i hadnt even read this yet, when I already posted that they roll 5 or more deep, and why does it take that many to respond to a call....and like you said the man was unarmed......were they not trained to not shoot and accidentally kill one of their own men...most of the cops here are a## holes, but that one actually looked like a nice sincere guy,....I dont even call the police if I need them anymore,....they wont help me,....I was assualted over the summer and they let the person leave and wouldnt even press charges....and hour later they responded to a call where that person lied and said I was there harassing them, and they took a warrant for me and I hadnt even been there, and this person got one of their friends to lie as a witness, and they believed it and pressed charges on me, and I still had bruises on me from being kicked in the head and bruises on my arms from covering my head to defend myself, when I had to go downtown to turn myself in....they are crooked here...to be honest w/ you, I'm kind of disappointed it was only one cop killed, i wouldnt care if it was the whole detachment, b/c they are not helping this comm. anyway.......they are just wearing badges to look big and bad, and mistreat the cit. here...

If the Cops had not come out with GUNS BAZIN Officier Jones would still be alive. Cops using this "shoot first and ask questions later" attitude has gotten a lot of people hurt. Then they try and blame someone else for what they have done. This needs to change and its needs to be done sooner then later. No matter how you look at it two men died and it should not have happen. The force used was not called for. West Virginia Law enforcement need a reality check.

hopefully "DOLLAR" Danny Jones won't get re-elected and we won't have to worry about getting harrassed by Charleston Police officers. I have a good driving record,my car is 100% legal, but I can't tell you how many times I have been pulled over and lied to, such as the cop saying my tail light is not working etc. In fact, that was one factor I considered before moving from that S*ithole. No other mayor is going to waste so many funds on the Police Dept. I say let Dollar Danny go! He's just concerned about the East Side anyway.

Ok - yes there is coverups and corruption in the police department as there is in a lot of offices - though that corruption wouldn't likely cause a death. First of all The Good man has an extensive criminal history. And the Light lady in the car with him also has one as does her husband Jeremy who without question, thinking it was normal for Good to let him get out and "relieve himself" and pull out with his wife in the truck and just think 'they were going to get more beer maybe" - and the guy ends up trying to kill "amber" an exgirlfriend, runs from the police from there - then another policeman notices his tail lights out and trys to stop him and oFF HE RUSHES - such policeman told to stop the chase and he did. BUT a BOL came over the radios for Good when a fellow traveler on same road he was on called in about him driving recklessly and bouncing off the rails on the road. Well then they got after him and called for backup from Sheriff/State and continued the chase in which Good had Ms Light throw things out the window at the police not caring if they wrecked and got killed or not. Then he stopped at Quick turned his truck around and proceeded to ram the police cars and one did get out of his car while another car beside him, gunned his motor against Good who was ramming him to try to stop him from going futher and perhaps harming the policeman in between the two police cars. Now, if Good wanted to surrender at that point as his family states - uh wouldn't he have tuned his key off and held his hands up instead of ramming and scooting the police car which could have killed the offcer outside his vehicle. SO HE WAS NOT UNARMED - his truck was a weapon. It is so sad that Jones was also killed - but for Brian, he evidently chose to live a criminal life with disregard for other human lives and especially for the justice system and Ms Light evidently was a willing passenger - but BOTH her and Good's family will probably sue and CRY "VICTIM" when Jones was the only victim I see in this case and his family should be the ones to make demands of seeing the cam if they thought there was a coverup.

Im sure these officers had a right to murder this guy,After all, they were issued a gun.Public beware. It sure breaks my heart that they got over excited and shot one of thier own. Was it an accident or did the other officer practice "Gun Control" for reasons he and his dead comrade only know about? It's happened before you know. What better way of commiting murder than in the line of duty? Happened a few times in Korea/VietNam. I'm going to fire up this joint and I hope the Dirty SOBs don't kick my door down.

The good guys are outnumbered 10 to 1 in the Kanawha County. 50% of the residents are either dealers or users an both are criminal acts and usually violence is just second nature to those folks, especially ones bombed out of their minds. So police know they are being called to attend the scene in which all the parties involved may not be in their right mind and not care if they are in danger or put others in danger. We are lucky we have any police at all for us, because so many are not and would not "be there for them".

My gosh - you folks don't think a huge truck ramming into police cars or turning around from the chase and heading back, DRIVING on the wrong side of the road trying to hit them IS A DANGER? wHEN PEOPLE are on drugs, they are out of their mind - thats what they take them for. They can't reason out their actions or anybody elses. Good was the one that purposely CAUSED THE CHASE AND THE SHOOTINGS by not stopping when cops first indicated for him to pull over. And do ya not think the passenger kinda put police in danger when throwing things out of the truck? Good was not unarmed, his truck was a deadly weapon. I'm sure there are bad cops who make good ones look bad by their actions, but in this case - no - Good asked to die. Also his passenger is a well known drug user and thief as is her husband who was in the truck but got out to "use the bathroom" and they left him. So my gosh the police are not the criminals here..

You are right. People can get robbed and beaten and humiliated by he drug-crazed criminal element and they never speak up. It's like pot heads and junkies and drunks can do no wrong.

If I got beaten up by a "junkie" and knew who it was, he'd go to jail for a while anyway. Now getting robbed when not at home (which has happened to me and I'm getting sick of it is another story) Police don't do fingerprints, talk to neighbors, NOTHING - you gotta do your own investigation. BUT if you'd hurt one of the thugs and acid heads, YOU'D sure be in jail quick

What about "rob the cradle"? The common usage is much less restrictive than what you are stating.
Ecce_Homo wrote:
<quoted text>No, however I do know what the definition of a colloquialism is.
However, with that said, Banks themselves are not robbed, the tellers are. An inanimate object cannot be robbed. The proof of this statement occurs with a simple test, if the robbers pointed their guns at the bank building and told the bank building, "Give us all your money or we'll shoot!" and the bank builing itself was to see and sense the threat of force and hand over the money, THEN you could say that a bank got robbed. But banks don't get "robbed", people in the bank get "robbed". Buildings get burglarized.

Ecce - what did you not understand about my post. Yes people are robbed and unoccupied BUILDINGS (not the same as a home) and cars etc. but at least it's listed in the crimes section in the newspaper and some investigation is done. When you are robbed at home and it's a small amount of money or goods involved, they take the info and tell ya they'll call you if they ever run into it. I'm sick of people like Good, his passenger, her hubby and all the other crack heads in this area robbing people who worked hard for what they got. If a person gets robbed and knows their assailant, WELL they;ll arrest him - if he's not known and they are hurt or it's a felony amount of money, they'll investigate. You are helpless at home when losing small thngs like a microwave here and a tv there, and a camera - here and a little bit of jewelry. THEY DON'T INVESTIGATE THOSE. But if you'd find out who did it and you HURT THEM BAD, YOU'd go to jail not the thieves - understand that?

So Ecce if someone robbed you and you saw them with the items you would just call the police? And by the time they got there, the people would have sold the goods. Most people would try to get their property back don't you think?

Understand the police in most small robberies just take info and say they'll call you if they "run into the items" They'll even tell YOU TO CHECK OUT THE PAWN SHOPS - and to let them know if you find your items so they can take them off the "loot list". So what does that leave a person to do - may as well just buy stuff and leave all the windows and doors open with a note, come on in and get it huh? I'm bitter for several folks in the Campbells Creek area including me keep getting robbed over and over - and we are also told to get cameras, burglar alarms, but of course we'd have to pay for those, so we'd be victim again, spending more money after already losing money or items worth quite a bit (to us). It's bad bad and sad.

It's sad Good had to die so young, but doesn't it seem possible it was suicide by cop shooting? Officer Jones being killed was horrible. I feel for his family but not for Good's. He also had prior history of stealing from people, meth lab building - such a meanace to society even without driving a truck and using it as a weapon..

Daily Horoscope for November 23

Aquarius

You may be noticing the effects of Mars in Aquarius now, which will give you the extra strength you need to fight any battles. Unfortunately, Mars does not impart tact or diplomacy as one of his gifts, so try to think before you speak as much as possible. Legal issues can become thorny over the next month or so; employ strategy rather than brute strength to win the day.
