This article compares the median value of "owner occupied houses," but in Marion County statistically significant numbers of houses are not owner occupied, they are rentals, and their values are very low. Were they factored in the median price of a home in Marion County would drop in half, making it one of the poorest cities in North America, a statistic they don't really want to say aloud.
