What is Bill Clinton's "exit strategy" for Kosovo? When will we "bring our boys back home," and "redeploy" them? Funny how the Democrats don't beat their chests calling for defeat in a Clintonian war.

Clinton ordered US bombers to target Kosovo in order to stop genocide; afterward, it was discovered that there was no genocide.

Bush went to war in Iraq to prevent genocide, and it was known that the Kurds had suffered genocide.

Compare the two. Clinton gets a pass from the left.

Sigh, why are we still in Kosovo? Better yet, why are we there in the first place? Why can't Europe handle their own problems instead of us bailing them out all the time?

That is wrong. Read From Hell by Samantha Power. There was a genocide in the Balkans, and Clinton got there too late. He was reluctant about some failures to prevent gencides in Rwanda and Somalia (Black Hawk Down debacle).
And Bush used the possible genocide as a justification for going to Iraq after the fact. If he was concerned about genocide, he would do something about Darfur...where a genocide has been ongoing for years.

I've been deployed to Kosovo and you are all way off base here. There WAS genocide happening (I have the NATO report)when we arrived as the Serb government was pushing ethnic Albanians (muslims) out of the Serbia by any means. The lucky ones simply had all their papers taken away and they were herded to Albania and FYROM (Macedonia). The unlucky ones were slaughtered. These K-Albanians LOVE the U.S. and Clinton specifically. There is a 30-foot mural of Clinton and "Bill Clinton Blvd" in the capital of Prishtina. Though there were retaliation killings by K-Albanians in front of the U.S.-led push, overall these muslims are peaceful people who just want to live and self-govern. This is the one recent positive in a history of negative "world police" moves by our country. Don't get it twisted, we are doing things right in Kosovo... now the U.N. "nation building" presence there is a different story full of inaction if not incompetence

I believe that the article was about soldiers leaving to be in harm's way (as VOLUNTEERS). Why do we have to politicize this? That's the problem with what we are doing in Irag/Iran/Middle East - everything has to be politicized to the extent that we have a UNITED STAES CONGRESSMAN meeting with the SYRIANS (self acknowledged funders and supporters of terrorism) and talking about how we shouldn't be there. THAT IS TANTAMOUNT TO TREASON!!! Let's just support our troops while they are in harm's way and let our votes determine where we go in the future.

Why are our troops fighting the muslims over in Iraq but yet we are protecting them in former Yugoslavia. Muslims our trying to take Serbian land and force muslim religon on the orthodox. If that was the case in the united states do you think we would be upset like the Serbs. Former Yugoslavis was destroyed in the middle 90's do to the war. Are we helping them build former Yugoslavia back up to help their economy like we our in Iraq.

Yes...let's stop talking about the politics and focus on the service men and women who are doing their jobs--giving us the freedom that we (and others) may continue to enjoy. That's what the Indy Star story was about anyway.

WTF? It was bubba who sent them there on a "6 month" mission. This is another mess that Bush inherited from the worthless clinton administration. You need to take your tin foil hat off and open your eyes.

Wrong! K-Albanians (as well as K-Serbs and Romas) have lived in this area of the Balkans for centuries... and peacefully I might add. It wasn't until Milosovich started spewing hate for non-Serbs (very much like Hitler's rhetoric about gypsies (Romas) and Jews) that there were problems. I worked w/K-Serbs and K-Albanians. Both talked about neighbors who were friends for generations that became enemies almost overnight. There aren't Muslims trying to take Serb land...they've been there all along. In fact, oh wise one, the last use of force to convert Balkan people was by 12th century orthodox Christians. Check your facts before you regurgitate nonsense from your last young Republicans meeting. Good luck to the latest KFOR group heading to the Balkans. Know you are serving in a valid and legitimate action.

Just like Palestine...the Muslims lived there peacefully until they were moved off their land...what a misunderstood religion.
