was this on the military or fwa side? I'm not too surprised, anyone can still get on that base from the southern end.

3 Points.
1) 2 feet isn't deep enough. That kind of digging is a lot of work, even with a pick.
2) Doesn't have to be rectangular hole. Much less work to dig a round hole about 3 feet wide. Makes it easier to get much deeper.
3) No matter how deep you dig, you need to cover up the dirt somehow when done. Branches, logs, rocks.

***At least, that was what I found when burying a coon dog out in the woods.

I am the best friend of who this could possibly be. Walter Tom Smith went missing from Edinburgh on September 3 2006. kinda hope it is him, kinda hope it's not.

This is kinda scary hearing about stuff like that on the news and internet. I live close to the place were the remains were found.

My son was at the scene with the local fire department. He said it is going to be really hard to identify the body. I hope they find out who it is and the person responsible will have to pay for what they have done. I went to school and grew up in the town with Walter Smith and I pray for the family.

I've talked with investigators at the site. they are leaning toward that it is not Tom at all based on some of the things in the area that were found.
