A Jim Wells County SheriffÂ’s deputy is still waiting for his arraignment on charges of driving while intoxicated, more than 15 months after the complaint was filed by Brooks County Attorney David T. Garcia.

On Feb. 20, 2007, Deputy Martin Suarez, 24, was driving on Highway 281 through Falfurrias when he was pulled over by DPS Trooper Victor Arevalo and subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated, first offense.

Okay...this Trooper did what? He actually arrested a drunk driver who happens to be in law enforcement? Good Job! Thank you Trooper for getting a drunk driver off the road and not turning your cheek just because he is in law enforcement. I also see the date on which this arrest was made, I know that's not the Trooper's responsibility he did his part. It's been quite a long time now and still nothing has been done to this deputy. At least we know our Troopers' are doing thier job.

Thank you Trooper Arevalo for doing your duty as an officer of the law. Now if the county attorney will get off his big fat chewbacca ass and do his job which we taxpayers are still paying him to do none of this would be going on. He has held back from prosecuting DWI cases for years and now he is using that to garnish votes from these people that have dwi's. Me thinks, the boy wants to run for some type of office. La Cheeche is too good after 20+ years, bato. Who would want to leave it? Again, Mr. Arevalo and the rest of the troopers should be good and mad at him for not prosecuting many, many DWIs in this county of brooks. Mothers Agains Drunk Drivers should be notified of this atrocity.
