I was thinking about working for them, i.e. Rawlings Group, in the near future and I am curious what the story is behind this lawsuit. I am sure that due to legal reasons you can not divulge to much info, but anything about their company culture would be appreciated. Also I am curious as to what position(s) the former employees held, just to see if they were related to the position I am considering. Thanks for anyone that has any info in advance!

The Rawlings group coming to town was touted as the greatest thing to ever happen to LaGrange, I think the results speak for themselves. Tons more traffic, and a lot of people who do not live in our city coming here to work and go back home, OCCASIONALLY eating in our restaurants, but that about it. I would love to know the actual number of NEW employees added when they made their heralded entrance into our humble little town.

you when hiring in. Everything I will tell you is 100% the truth. About 90% of the people that work there do not make this fictitious $50K to $70K per year. They'll tell you that you will though. Most people do not make even close to this and there are a lot of hard working people that work there. The company simply is not what it used to be and there is not the business they used to have. Most of the people you see featured on the website for the company don't even work there anymore. They've all left or been fired. And the website is only about two years old, if that. The fact that they are hiring additional people right now infuriates so many loyal people that have hung in at this company. I say this because there is not enough work for people anyway. YOU WILL NEVER GET PAID YOUR BONUSES IN A TIMELY MANNER!!!!! If you are lucky enough to hit a bonus, you will never know when you will get paid for it. They will not tell you this when hiring in though. Let's say you bring in enough money to make a $2000 bonus this week. You are not going to get paid for it anytime soon. It is entirely likely, you will be waiting for many months,(sometimes a year to three years) before you get paid on it. I've seen MANY TIMES where one NEVER gets paid for their bonus. continuing....The reason for this is because they won't pay you for your hard earned work until their client pays them. This, more often than not, is a VERY LONG TIME. And as I mentioned, you will never know when you will get paid. However, this is another thing they will not tell you. Lets say you made a $5000 in 2005 when people made a good income at Rawlings .You were paid this money and went to buy something you needed for your home. In the year 2010, the client that paid this fee to the company decides they want it back. Guess who is paying this $5000 back?????????? YOU!!!!!!!!!!IT COMES OUT OF YOUR CHECKS UNTIL ITS IS PAID BACK. This happens every week to people at Rawlings. Also, if you hire in as a salaried employee and work under the required 40 per week, you have to "make up your time" like an hourly employee. But if you work over, you will not be paid like an hourly employee, you are paid salary. You can't be both hourly and salary. It is unethical, illegal and wrong. And they know this. This is why they are being sued for it. Google info on the lawsuit.Worst, it is a very negative environment to work in. The rules apply to who they want them to apply to and most people that work there are VERY unhappy. Most regular employees (non-executive) are barely making ends meet. And the vast majority are unhappy. What I am telling you is simply the truth. That company treats their employees very poorly. If you are happy at your job, do not leave it to go to Rawlings. You will not like it and would be making a mistake. There are competitors in the area that pay their employees well and you CAN make a great income at them and are much more pleasant to work for

Oh, I have an email that the owner sent out discouraging his employees from eating at the local restaurants. He wants everyone to eat at his overpriced cafe in the building. No body does though because the food is just awful.

I have read a lot of negative comments so this is why I am posting; I have worked for this company for almost 10 years and it is what you make of it. I am making above $80,000.00 and this is no BS. Do I work hard? you bet I do. I am college educated and I know that I will not find a job in Louisville that pays me the kind of money I make here. The benefits are good. Do I work over 40 hours a week? yes I do because 3/4 of my pay is generated from commissions and the more I work, the more I can turn files around and get new ones. Again it is what you make of it. My husband is home everyday by 5pm but he makes 1/2 of what I make. I have always beens paid my commisions on time. The dept I work in is Subro. Do I think the owner is a little egocentric, yes but it is no different than 99% of people of his status. You just need to know your place. I just hope this helps anyone who might want to apply for a job.

Subro is so different that the Audit dept and the owner babies the Subro people as he is an attorney himself so that makes this is baby. so bonuses are going to come in better. THINK!!!!

THINK!!!! It is obvious that you don't know much about the company! He does not "baby" subro at all. The pay structure may be different than audit but 2/3 of my income is from commissions so the more I work the more I make. The place does have it's moments but it is still a good pay check. Again it is what you make of it!

Funny, it is such a great place to work that his right-hand man of 15 years left this month to be V.P. of Mr. Rawlings competitor. LOL

Great place to work. Not too many companies in Louisville offer the potential of a six-figure income in a few short years. I'm proud and grateful to work for Rawlings. Good luck to all the folks who were making $8 an hour as claims processors for local insurance companies. You had a good thing at Rawlings and you blew it. You will never find an opportunity like Rawlings again. And by the way, the competitors pay a fraction of what we make at Rawlings.

Perhaps the author of the last comment is someone who's ego is as legendary as his taste for those of the same sex. Nobody wants or likes working for that company. And if you believe that most do, you are seriously out-of-touch with reality. Obviously, it must not pay too well where you are since your most trusted & "loyal" right-hand man finally got fed up and went to the competitor along with many others who are quite happy at the competitors. AND they actually get paid their bonuses in a timely manner and are treated like an hourly employee when they are salaried. Blow it out your diddy bag. BEN THERE DONE THAT.
