1700? That is almost laughable, considering how many students go to school in jefferson county. How simple is it,kids should just go to the school nearest their home.I was bussed in my junior and senior year, and hated it.

You are absolutely right. I worked at a school in JCPS. Sending these kids all over the county is a BIG joke. Parents send their kids to school sick...all the way across the county. The kid sits at school all day, vomiting and worse. Parent has no transportation to come get the kid. Kids on the bus 45 minutes just to get to school... Which board members want to drive 45 minutes to their job ?? NONE of them. One person on the Board even told a friend of mine that people "liked" the busing plan ..... Wish I knew what they had been drinking!!! Behavior is HORRIBLE and the administrators hands are tied. I wish the public REALLY knew the inside story....no wonder people moved to other counties....I did.

I am not familiar with this but the only reason I can think to bus kids from one school to the next is over crowding in the first school. Otherwise it is a waste of resources.

Its in all in the name of diversity. They had to buy more buses and open bus depots for the kids who are sent across town cause they have to ride more than one bus.And it is a waste of resources, cause most parents would choose for their kids to attend a neighborhood school.

$40 million transportation budget. That does not include early childhood transportation. That is totally ridiculous... Imagine what could be done with that money if the transportation budget were to be cut in half.... The tax payers of Louisville should vote the current Board members OUT and recruit people who can spend the tax payer money in a more effective manner.

Wow, that is a total waste of resources and waste of time for parents and students. I wonder how much time and money is used by the parents taking the students to school events.

It is a waste. And if the parents dont have a car, which many dont,it makes it hard to attend events at their childs school.

If the parents don't then how do the kids attend events?

They don't get to attend... That's why neighborhood schools are essential ...
