Sad,when a mother has to do this to protect her child against a bully.

I applaud this mother for doing this, since the school wasnt doing anything to protect her daughter.Bullying is a huge problem in JCPS.The bully should've been transferred, not the little girl.

The sad part is the bully rarely faces any consequences. It's always the victim that has to make changes and adjustments. Something more needs to be done. If the bullying continues, hold the parents criminally responsible.

I disagree.A transfer doesn't do much to deter a bully.Only has him bullying someone else's kid in another district. In my opinion, the tolerance and allowance of one kid bullying another within the schools is exactly what leads to cases like Columbine and other similar school shootings. It's also my opinion that a child with imperfections shouldn't be cheated out of a chance at an education because he lives under constant violence, the threat of violence, being demeaned and or robbed, and his teacher laughing in all the wrong places. In my opinion, kids that like to push their weight around should be given a three-strike,low-tolerance state mandated punishment. With the first strike sending a shock-wave that the parents feel,,,and the third strike resulting in expulsion.Kids will be kids, and imposing zero-tolerance on anyone is insane I believe. However, allowing one kid to pick on another has already proven to leave a good number dead on the cafeteria floor when one disgruntled teen-ager decides to put an end to the bullying himself. Most of the time,,,he gets a lot of people who had nothing to do with his grief. And I find that unacceptable.Especially when school faculty could prevent such atrocities with very minimum effort.

Great post,Spartan.Referring to that mom who choked that little snot recently because he was bullying her daughter, shows that too many of these punks are not punished to the extent where they'll wake up and change their ways.Like i said....great and everything you said is spot on.I remember Columbine and the aftermath, and it could easily happen again.

Thank for this. And I agree with you about that.Punk kids never seem to be recognized and dealt with adequately. So yes,in my opinion,a parent doesn't really have much choice but to address the issue themselves when it seems to be a recurring problem that the faculty can neither speed up,slow down,,,nor stop.Part of the problem is too many twenty-two year old teachers that still wanna be seventeen,,,not really wanting to kill a good joke against some poor kid who could live more comfortably without it.Until teachers decide to grow up and assume their command like adults though, the odds of a Columbine situation happening again is not only possible,,,but likely I believe. And with a teen-ager in school myself, the possibility of a punk kid with a back-pack full of shells really spooks me at times. Thanks again.
