Tragic! Word on the street- the younger Smith was to testify in a drug case against other drug dealers. Just wondering why the DA didn't offer protection to him and his family. Sounds somewhat like a previous case/murder doesn't it? I hope the DA feels just a little pain over this.

If the DA can`t offer protection , i think he should be able to. If he is able to and didn`t, i think the family should sue his ass.

Hal Kittrell is the DA and yes he can offer protection.

I totally agree, I would blast it all over the news! Of course, the DA will try and cover his ass by saying the younger Smith was about to be tried on drug charges, leaving out the "rest of the story" that a deal had been struck.

How tragic and his parents also.

I think protection should have been given if they thought he was in danger.

I guess if they are druggies, they dont want protection, because they have to go to an undisclosed location. They just want out to get them some more drugs.. in most cases.
