I just want to know how catching it will do more harm??? Do you even know what kind of arrow head it has, you would need to know this to know if it will fall out.

How many ways can you spell M - o - r - o - n, that is who shot this lovely water fowl. Shame on the person who finds this funny, the bird is suffering, no doubt. I hope the arrow will indeed,'just fall out....' Hope the person that did this does not do this type of senseless act again.

So your telling me... They cant tranqualize the bird and put it to sleep and take out the dart? I mean if its sleeping, theres not much damage to be done... How do they add ankle bracelets to track birds?? Im sure they put those on there safely dont they? I just think the resources were not available to help this bird.

Are we serious about this??? We're talking about a goose. Yesterday was a dog dieing and now we're talking about a goose with an arrow in its leg. Common, let's be serious. We're wasting time talking about a goose. I have an idea, why don't we just shoot it and end its pain already. BIG DEAL. I'm sure everyone will move on about a goose with an arrow.
P.S Great news, the duck tasted great!!`

This reminds me of when I was in college up in Greeley a few years ago. There was a pigeon who had been shot with a blow dart right through the neck. He used to hang out on the porch roof outside my 2nd story study-room window. He went on about his business with the other pigeons. I have photos somewhere, and if I can find them, I will post them.
I do not condone shooting birds in the city limits, but I found it remarkable that this bird survived, and he was not hampered by the shooting.
It was a dart about three inches long. The dart was stopped due to a plastic 'knob' on the firing end. The knob was right against his neck, and the dart was visible about two inches on the other side of his neck.
When I graduated, he was still there, and he might still be there today:)

HOW ABOUT IF WE PUT YOU OUT OF OUR MISERY? YOUR INCONSIDERATE COMMENTS ARE UNCALLED FOR. SOME OF US DO HAVE CONSIDERATION FOR OTHER LIVING ANIMALS, AND IF THEY CAN BE SAVED, SAVE THEM; EVEN IF WE DO EAT MEAT. lroy79 wrote: Man a duck are you serious a duck man pluck it's feathers and throw in a hot plate so we can feed it to Steph,Nicole and Beatriz. ...and I quote: "DOW says they are not sure how the goose was injured."
How much do we pay these DOW employees? What kind of education do they have?
The goose was injured because he/she was shopping in a sporting goods store, slipped on some spilt McDonald's coffee, stumbled backwards, and landed against an arrow that was on display.
Give me a break.....

If they can catch fowl to band them, why won't they remove the arrow from this bird's leg? It is astounding to hear the reasoning (or lack, therof) for some people's decisions.

Next time shut up when grown folks are talking.

Yeah, of course the goose is functional. But don't you think it's in terrible pain?! It was human interference that caused this in the first place, so why can't humans interfere again to help this poor animal?! And yes Bryan, we're "still talking about this," as it was just announced that they are going to let the goose suffer and not help it. Anyone who cares at all about animals isn't going to ask a question like that.
