And the fact that they want to test to see if the son edenfield is mentally competent? Come on that is a load of crap. He was competent enough to know that he had to hide that body; he was competent to know that he had to snatch that child HE KNEW right from wrong! Now the son edenfield wants to claim to be retarded. I am sure they are some slow weirdo, however, they are not so retarded to want to satisfy there sexual deviancy

Being mentally incompetent means you go from one state to another or in the case of being retarded you just don't have the wits about you to decide right from wrong.

Bipolar disorder is a example of a mental disorder. You know you don't have the money to spend but you spend it anyway in a effort to change your mental state thinking you will deal with the out come of your choice later.

It's pretty ridiculous to mix sexual urges into mental competency

I did not grow up in this area, but I know plenty who did and were in school with George. His mental deficiency is not a newly made-up thing, he was known too all the kids back in the day as a "retard".

As for mentally handicapped people not having sexual urges, please tell me you don't really believe that. Ever done any reading up on mental health wards or residences for the mentally handicapped? Controlling the sexual activity of those individuals is a full time job.

What sets "normal" people apart is not having unacceptable urges and/or the ability to know when it is appropriate to excercise the.

Excuse me???? the trailer park owner and the judge allowed these animals to live near where children lived and played do not go throwing stones where you do not have basis to throw them.

Nobody told anyone that these animals were deviants, if they had I am sure there would have been more than enough pressure to get them out of there.

You're wrong, they were told that the Edenfields were diviants....and in fact even Grandma Sue knew enough to tell Christopher that they were "bad" and to stay away from them. Those were her words, quoted in the news.

bottom line... if this was not Christopher it would have been another child. The edenfields would have done this in the long run to some child.. Maybe if they were locked up or not living in an area where kids were that could have prevented this, but I don't think so. I think they would have snatched a kid eventually. The blame does not go to the grandmother or father only to these horrific monsters named edenfields.

I agree! Right now the only thing that should matter is to get justice for Christopher, mud can be slung all day long at the father, the mother, the grandmother. Would of , Should of , could of will not bring Christopher back to life.

The Edenfields need to be locked up for the rest of their lives never to hurt anyone ever again. That should be the goal not slinging mud at others.

I agree that the Edenfields are dirty pieces of crap that need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Then next, the father and the grandmother should be prosecuted for contributory negligence in Christopher's death, for neglect.

"Then next, the father and the grandmother should be prosecuted for contributory negligence in Christopher's death, for neglect."

You're quite the hard ass arn't ya?
This is probably the most asinine comment made on this matter up to date, and believe me there has been some dumb shyt said over that past couple of years! But this is utterly ignorant.

I agree some bad decisions were made that alot of parents make when rearing children. Some people live with the idea that this kinda thing won't happen to them. I admit until this horrible crime I had that same mentality.

That little boy was loved, fed, and had a bed to sleep in at night. He was blessed with his family as they were blessed with him and in no way shape of form was this little boy neglected!

Neglect isn't letting a child play in the court yard in front of his house, it's not like it took 'em a week to notice the baby was missing. And they are not any more guilty then the rest of us for neglect simply because they didn't see an immediate threat or reason NOT to let that baby play outside.

I admit that there were flags going up all around them and their neighbors, but Christopher wasn't the only little boy in that trailor park that was allowed to play unsupervised, so will you arrest the entire trailor park?

Would you drive thru there right now with a police officer and arrest every parent of every child that you see wondering around on his or her own?

Do you realize how many times a police officer has to go into a trailor park? Have you yet to hear of 'em just lockin up folks for lettin their young-uns play? I haven't!

There fore you calling them criminals because they were't watching their child as closely as you or I would is just the stupidest thing I have ever read.

We can not judge the Barrios for their lack of good judgement...when we have all at one time or another had the same problem...maybe not with our kids, but everyone of us have done something or said something without thinking first.....I believe this post may have been one of yours.

Umm, NO, it is NOT the father now grandmother fault that this happened. In certain cases you can blame the guardian but in some you can NOT. In Sherrice Iverson case you can clearly blame her father (he left her unattended in a CASINO for HOURS). But you can NOT blame Christopher's dad for GOING TO WORK, leaving his son AT HOME.

As far as his granny, what the heck did she do? She was not watching Christopher, Paula was.

Furthermore, if Paula knew she was living in a trailer park with known sex offenders then maybe she deserve a smack for letting a 6 year old wonder alone.
