A Williamsburg family was hit with its second vehicular tragedy in a month when a 74-year-old woman was killed Thursday morning by a car that had crossed over the center line on Route 60 in James City County.

Madeline Gallimore was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident around 7:45 a.m. Her death came less than a month after her granddaughter, 27-year-old Anissa Hoilett, died on a Maryland highway when she was thrown from the passenger seat of her vehicle.

Gallimore died around 7:45 a.m. Thursday after an accident near 7345 Pocahontas Trail, said Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. D.S. Carr. Carr said two exchange workers in a 1995 Pontiac crossed the center line and ran into Gallimore's 2000 Honda. The two people in the Pontiac were taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Read more

Oh my goodness I dont know how or why I came upon this article on this day but my familybwas traveling to Maryland the day Anissa passed. It is single handedly the most heartbreaking thing Ive witnessed in my life. My daughter Brianna became close with the daughter/great granddaughter of these two women. My prayers are always with them, even 5 years later.
