I have lived here 50 years and every year it is the same warning, with some summers having no police back up in the counties. You just load your shotguns and ask questions later. Burgleries do increase, and around August they will start doing all the arrests for the summer's drug runners and dealers and by September they will be released and in drug court due to overcrowding. They will spend winter running up their court costs and going in and out of jail while running up the Parole and Probation Depts. resources, and then start all over again next spring with meth cooking, pot growing, thieving to get money to get the projects going, and the cycle repeats. Our forests need our money to keep out the Mexican cartels that are coming in and growing OPIUM for their heroin. That is 1000 times more a threat than our little street meth heads who will eventually kill themselves on aids and hep c. Mexican cartels will invade your homes, rape your families, and kill you. For fun. Put our money where it is needed. Arm our Forestery workers and add more defense from the REAL threat.

I have lived in Jo. Co. for close to 40 years now & every Sheriff we have ever had has used the same-ole Scare Tactics and subsequent Black Mail of the Tax Payers via lack of Services in a vain attempt to get The County Tax Payers to give them more $$$$ on the next levy to waste on New Cop Cars and Fancy Equipment and even more Tax Levy's and not new Deputies as promised, only to then Mysteriously find New funds just in time for the Marijuana Harvest Season and 24/7 patrols are restored till the next time they beg for more $$$$ to wastes on new levy's and etc... My problem with them is even when they have a budget and 24/7 patrols when you do need them they come late or never come at all or use the excuse of " the tax payers did not approve our last levy so we have no one to respond to your needs", so according to Home Defense Statutes your first Bullet must be Non-Lethal... better yet rock salt leaves no ballistics. NO TAX IS A GOOD TAX, VOTE NO ON THE UPCOMING POLICE LEVY!
