He wasn't stealing a loaf of bread to feed his family. He knew that he was stealing and should man up and take responsibility. It's funny how his wife has to come to his defense. I work hard for what I have, enjoy raising your family with a role model who has no moral compass.

I'm all for law and order and the 'hang 'em high' attitude, but if I was on this guys jury I don't know if I would convict. I think an argument could be made for the cards being lost or discarded property rather than stolen property. He may not have been sure they had any value till he logged on and checked them.
If Chevron called, asked for them back and he refused or denied ever having them, then yes, perhaps a crime was committed. But the way the paper portrays it, I don't really see the crime.
