Cipsaw, One of the people who worked in the governors mansion was Graham who killed Adrian Klasky. The only thing Adrian was "guilty" of was having sense enough to divorce her abusive husband, Graham, and get her sons out of that situation. She was just sitting at a redlight in downtown Pascagoula, when he drove up beside her and put a shotgun on his shoulder and shot her. If he had done that to Mrs. Barbour (while working in the mansion), I wonder if he would have been so quick to let him out of prison? Apparently he has lost his mind or just doesn't care about people. I hope the DA can do something to help these innocent families who lost loved ones at the hands of these maniacs.

I came here last night to see if anyone was discussing this. I am Don Simpson's Daughter and I am beyond angry about these pardons.. not just because my ex step mom Patricia is being let out, I am angry for all the victims.
Sorry for your loss. Hopefully something can be done to rectify barbours ignorant decisions. We can only pray it is possible and that in some way he will be punished dearly.

Thank you, I pray something can be done as well, in my case I may lose this battle but maybe all this attention will be enough to stop this sort of thing from ever happening again. I really feel for the other victims families because I do know how they feel and its one of the most helpless feelings in the world. with the sweep of his pen Haley Barbour turned our worlds upside down. I hope he in some way has to pay for what he has done.

I do not know anyone involved in this - but I do know the people of the State of MS convicted them and a governor should not be able to set them free. Maybe someone will file a civil suit against the governor if one of these prisoners hurts some body else. I could not sleep at night if I did this.

It is odd that he did not pardon anyone in his first term nor did he show any interest in using pardon powers. Then in his second, he pardoned a criminal working for him, then just before the new Gov gets in, he pardons loads of them.

The reason being, it would have cost him re-election. That was a very stupid move and he knows it.

What bothers me is his constant reference to his Christian beliefs and how many people in MS are Christians. He keeps saying people should believe in second chances and Christian forgiveness. It seems to be a two bladed sword seeing as how I am sure it was Christian beliefs that put them in jail, you must pay for your crimes. People that do what the ex Governor is doing makes me sick, he tries using religion as his excuse, to try to justify a very bad decision. bull crap! I think he is only a christian to further his career. He is also being proven to be a person that is reckless with the truth.
Reporting from Washington and Sacramento — Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour's assertion that he did not personally work for the government of Mexico when his lobbying firm represented the country a decade ago is contradicted by the firm's own federal filings, which describe him as a leader of the team assigned to the account.

Well you know if I slap you, then you have to forgive me not someone else. That is a pile of hog wash - the people of MS convicted these criminals and they should serve their time. Show me your beliefs don't just talk about them is how I feel - talk is cheap and I see nothing what so ever Christian in letting a bunch of criminals free - he should have turned out every prisoner in the State if that is the case - seems he could have just forgiven them all. I bet you if someone hurt his family he would want them in prison.

Umm, told ya in this thread he worked for Mexico, took my Mom's job. Glad you came up with the article!!! Barbour is such a liar!
The other note I made about how he got a lot of votes by putting out the rumor on Ronnie Musgrove is true also. But low and behold, being that Southern Baptist, Mama even voted for the man! Can't get over that one. Doesn't anyone else remember the rumor running through all the large Southern Baptist Churches in GC was when he first ran for election?

I don't really know anything about him, I just know that these pardons were too much. If he had pardoned three or four people(not murderers or rapist) I would have said not good, but so what - no man should have that power.

If they were minor offenses not involving deaths or destruction, it might be okay.

I agree, I personally do not think he should be able to over turn a conviction - this pardon stuff is unbelieveable.

I doubt barbour is having any trouble sleeping. He is much to arrogant to admit to his ignorant mistakes. Hopefully the people he is suppose to go to work with will take notice and decide he would be bad for their business and not want him anywhere near them.

I agree, Really the only thing getting me through this is praying that new legislation is passed SOON that will stop this from happening again.. and I have to admit I have been praying that Haley Barbour never sleeps another good night in his life. I know I should be that way but I can't help it right now. It really irks me to think of him peacefully sleeping while I and other victims cry ourselves to sleep at night.

Could it be possible that those who worked for him may have discovered something troubling about him and he wanted to keep them quiet, so he set them free as part of some hush hush deal? And maybe freed many more so hopefully it would not be noticed?

Just wondering "what was he thinking".

You are just feeling normal for the situation, you will come to peace with it - I feel that this will cost him. Something is not right with anyone that will do something of this nature. I hope your peace comes quickly.

I just hope his powerful friends do not try to quiet the media or squash the news that is spreading of his dirty deeds. I always did think he was more crooked than a dogs hind leg. I also hope they investigate and verify, where every Katrins tax dollar went. Anybody that has enough nerve to do this, I think is capable of anything.

I agree - it did take a lots of nerve to do this - he knew it would hit the fan, but he has no fear - if he has done anything else illegal, I hope someone will dig it up.
