Pawnshop owner accused of failing to provide records
The owner of an Ocean Springs pawn shop could have his license to operate suspended or revoked for refusing to turn his records over to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, according to Sheriff Mike Byrd.Full Story

This Pawnshop and the one in Gautier buys stolen good all the time. they no it is hot when they buy it.

Article seemed to say he turned his records over willingly every month to Jackson Co Sherrifs Dept but refused to give them to OSPD? I may have misread :o)

Oops, had it backwards, had given to City of OS but refused JAXCO Sherrif

Jerry has a history with the Sheriffs department; he was a reserve officer with them when Connie was Chief at OS. Maybe there's bad blood now, who knows. all in all, it was a real dumb thing for him to do myself. According to the law pawnshops are to turn over these records when requested by the appropriate authorities. The Sheriff’s Department would be an appropriate authority.
