This is a very sad day. God bless you, Roger.

You know Times Standard. This is horrible news. It would really be nice if for just such a story you could dispense with the insurance and other ads popping up. Supervisor Rodini was one of the most brightest, kindest gentleman that ever walked the earth. This county has truly lost one of it's best citizens. Maybe Caltrans could finally finish the freeway in that stretch and name it after him. That would be an appropriate thing to do.

My condolences to his family. Roger and I disagreed about many issues, but I was impressed with his intelligence and grit.

I think the first comment above is insensitive enough to warrant removal.

Wow!
really shocking news horrible news I didn't politically agree with Supervisor Rodoni about much of anything but it's still a tragic situation My condolences to his family and friends. |

Jay Koster, your a real piece of work! Roger will be sorely missed by the residents of Humboldt county. He was the only voice of reason on the Board.

Echoing sentiments above, he and I may have had different political views, but I damn sure liked and respected the man.
And as for Jay, show some goddamned class. |

This news is a hard shock.
I hope the local media will quickly let us know how it happened and whether anyone else in Roger's vehicle or the other vehicles was hurt. To Roger's friends and loved ones, I am so sorry for your loss! |

A great shock and an even greater loss for this community. Roger Rodoni has long been a stalwart for Humboldt County, and no matter his politics, one had to respect that he was always a straight shooter and one of Humboldt County's finest wits. After covering the Board of Supervisors for a total of three years, I had nothing but respect for the man. My sincerest condolences to his family.

Thanks for your quick response to my earlier suggestion.

Wow. I'm stunned.
Love him or not, Roger was what we all need in an elected official and a friend. He never told you what you wanted to hear, he told you what he believed....downside political consequences be damned. We are all the poorer for the loss of his ideals and straight-up way. The loss of such an honest man is a tragedy, way....way beyond the small change of politics. Sincere grief and condolences from this family to his. You're going to be deeply missed Roger. Even those who criticized and opposed you had to respect your honesty and dedication to your belief in what was the right thing to do. Sleep well my friend. |

With Sympathy and shock.
To the family of Mr. Rodoni: may your memories help to get you thru this sad time |

Folks, Truthy's comment is not directed at Carrol Conner's remark but rather a rather insensitive remark made before her's that has been subsequently removed. |

A very sad day for Roger's family and for this county. As someone above said, he was a voice of reason in this county. I didn't always agree with his politics either, but he was honest, logical, and genuinely cared for the county he represented. Something that can't be said for a lot of people in office around here. Our balance is sadly lost. God be with Roger and his family. He was a good man.

It would seem my comments were taken out of context, and I do apologize. It was a bad joke, and I should not have made it.
I feel for his family. No man should have their life ended so suddenly. I am certain he will be missed. As for me, I was a part of those who did not agree with his politics. I will not hide that fact. Again, my apologies. |
