Code enforcement should not work for special interests. But for the People .Affordable housing should be a right not a privilege.

Its not about affordable housing, its about public safety. The building codes are in place to protect public safety.

Building codes are "in place" to collect taxes, control people, and try to make People fear the government by coming to them to ask what they can or can't do on their own land.

Abolish the local government, save money! Arrest the code "enforcement" teams- find them jobs doing this in England, and deport them all.

Our Nation fought AGAINST this type of harrassmant against the Private Property OWNER.

Life, Liberty, and Private Property....were the orginal words. Not bowinmg to some scumbag who feeds off blood money like a vampire!

Ship them all back to England where they belong! Americans support FREEDOM & LIBERTY, not clipboard taxation!

Masked patriot--your rantings make no sense.
Building codes have existed to protect lives and property since the times of Hammurabi (1760 BC)(and Deuteronomy 22:8 requires a parapet (or railing) around the edge of a buildings roof to keep people from falling off.)
Google any of the following tragedies for more information on the reason for building codes:
Triangle Shirt Waist fire, Fire at Coconut Grove, Iroquois Theater, and the list goes on, and on.

Anyone who promotes the removal of all government either expects all people will be good to each other of their own free will, or desires riots and looting. Either way, that person is a fool.

Like the Bible isn't a story about Common Man fighting against evil governments, enduring pain of slavery and occupation, and rising above the enemy by selling your extra cloak and buying a sword?

Paul wrote his story while in prison for resisting the evil government. Riota are a control tool used by money changers- anyone at WTO in Seattle knows firsthand the government started the fight and had their OWN people dressed as anarchists to smear the message. Funny how anyone who was captured in the fighting during WTO was with those black clad people wearing the same boots- those who fought alongside the Common Citizen weren't touched by the evil that attacked the city.

Code Enforcement goes against the Law Of The Land, that Law being our Bill Of Rights. Anything that is written as "law" that is against that, WE as Citizens, Soverign Citizens- are NOT bound by banker lies they call "law".

Shut Down the county government and do as you would on your land, lifting it and your Liberty, and Life to GOD.

bankers will all be sent to Hell- to suffer for their crimes against Creation and Liberty.

Not so fast who are you to judge. We built a cabin in the woods twenty years ago its not ever close to the building code. It survived the weather over the years just fine .And let,s not forget about the earthquakes in 1992.The code is being used to limit growth.

This is just a way for county slime with a clipboard to put their hand in your wallet. The muppets have spent all their money and are too fat to tighten their belts- they assume they will take whatever they need from the Citizens.

This is the bottom line, government workers could care less if your house with stands an earthquake- they don't care if you live or die, they just want a fat hand reaching in your wallet- and you shaking in fear in the face of a filthy government worker.....we got news for them!

We need to fire ALL the elected and start over, if you are in office you need to go. We also need a measure to legalize Tar & Feathers for government workers who violate Rights. A dab of tar can go a long way.

This entire issue is nothing more than government wanting you to beg on your knees and grovel, all while handing the slime money. Enough is Enough! People shouldn't be taxed on their homes and property, and they sure as Hell should be able to create whatever type of Life they want on their own land- free from harm from government slime.

Building codes are subordinate to the Civil code in California. Government is not allowed to enforce building standards by procedures that violate civil code!

Further, what say you when any of the codes are as much not followed by government jurisdictions?

Building codes are not necessarily only for public safety, as spin doctors will suggest. More so, it is about "revenue collection" for the local jurisdictions. It is clarified as such in California Real Estate laws.

California Real-Estate laws have been breached by government employees too often!

Oh, when government entities and the realty industry super-inflate values on homes, this value increase only raises the bar level (entry point) for home buyers. This truely hurts everyone. You see, when Realtors help to raise prices on others, they help to potentially raise prices on themself (if they are in the market to buy too). Unfortunately, millionaires are not millionaires when their expendiatures are equivalent. Government wants you to think how much money and value is going up generation after generation. The twist is it is for the government first, not individual wealth. Property taxes are based on TRANSACTION VALUES. Superinflate the transaction price and government gets unwarranted tax revenue created through methodologies of propaganda politics and tax fraud.

Oh, if values go down, get your legal property tax appeal with the county clerk, appraisers, supervisors and appeals board all in the same loop.

My estimation is that if you bought a house or have had a house constructed within the last 5-7 years, you need to file an appeal application with the county. You are overpaying on property taxes because values are plummeting.

Yes- this is true, it's a simple form that some numbnuts govt slimer will hand you. The enemy claims by their own filthy words- that home values HAVEN'T fallen here. The filthy bastards know that Citizens will find out how to have your home revalued lower, yet they WON'T even admit to falling home prices.
The reality is taxes should NEVER be placed on anyone's Home because it's just wrong.
The tax "people" ( I really hate to use the word person when referring to govt. "workers, they don't deserve the word, they are less than human ) they know their gig is up and will try every filthy trick to hold their hand in your wallet.

We need to form the Tar & Feather's Party, and field Real Americans who want to shrink government, and promote Liberty, and taking back the local government, and repealing all local taxes.

Then

BEIJING - The death toll from the May 12 earthquake in Sichuan Province and its neighboring region rises to 69,200

The differance--building codes.
