Yeah, that is the ticket. Legalize something that is "healthier than alcohol." How ridiculous. If we need to legalize a drug, which is used by the majority of users to get stoned, as a savior for our economy, then we are in big trouble. And I say no, as one who does not want to simplify the availability of another drug. And yes, even if regulated, kids will get it. Just like alcohol, just like cigs, just like meth.

And I am not judging anyone. The law says it is illegal. I do not need to judge to follow that guidance.

It was easier for me to get some herb in school than a bottle of liqueur.

Guess you prefer it that way.

People keep saying they want it legalized, but when it comes to a vote.....it doesn't pass. Large numbers of growers show up when there is a vote. Doesn't that tell you something? They say yes to legalization to everyone around them, but mark the "no" box for legalizing it. They know once it's legal the money is gone. They aren't fools. It's just like whenever there is a dip in the price of it.......all of a sudden there are all these raids. Why? Because they start turning each other in to get the price back up.

Marijuana provided me with a safe alternative to alcohol, when I was a young man with serious drinking issues. Under the influence of marijuana, I've never once blacked out, started a fight, or ended up in the hospital with alcohol poisoning. There is no marijuana poisoning, as there is no critical dossage...(you can't even say that about aspirin!) Had I continued my drinking and driving someone would have probably ended up dead. Can't you see any value in marijuana for this type of risk aversion?

Maybe you will change your mind when you get caught in the crossfire of a drug deal gone bad. Or when you cant purchase a house in Humboldt Co. because of the inflated prices caused by pot money. Or when the large gangs from So. Cal. move on up north to capitalize on the drug trade. Or when the grow room in your neighbors house ignites and burns down yours, and the whole block. Our law enforcement is over burdened. That's apparent. If pot was not something they had to deal with, it would free up more money/manpower to deal with other crime. "just like meth"

Are you on crack?
Do you seriously think that legalizing marijuana will put a stop to grow houses so that you don't have to worry about a grow room in your neighbor's house catching your house on fire?
Buddy, you might want to worry about every single one of your neighbors catching your house on fire if it becomes legal.

The prohibition of cannabis represents the most embarassing moment in American history: that we could have the wool pulled over our eyes at all, but for 75 years!!!!!!!!!!

This makes us look weak to the rest of the world - most of whom already hate us.

The facts are there for all to see: the drug war is a miserable failure, cannabis is indeed the cure for cancer and many other ailments and it is the safest recreational "drug" known to man. But we are so entrenched in THE BIG LIE that we don't know how to get out of it.

Well, it's all very simple.

Accept the truth. Tell the truth always. The truth will set you free.

Cannabis is not the enemy. Cannabis is your friend. Embrace your friend.

I agree with you on all the other points, but that one is a complete myth.

If prices were inflated by pot money, wouldn't houses in Lake County be expensive? What about Fresno, Visalia, etc?

No. Housing is grossly inflated in Mendocino and to some degree Humboldt County because these are nice places to live. If you are just taking a lie from the opposition and trying to twist it against them, then okay, fine.

Green houses are cheaper and if it was legal, we could grow outside.

Just saying... no Californian can talk about inbreeding unless their family bred out with immigrants or indigenous people. I've talked to a lot of folks who say stuff about inbred southerners and whatnot... I want to point out that everyone in their town all has the same nose, but that'd probably be racist of me.

Are you blind. Take a drive out to Charlotta, petrolia, alderpoint, dinsmore, bridgeville, redway, garberville ETC... Look at the cars/trucks parked in front of the houses. Look at the boats and RV.s parked in there yards. Then look at how much a 3 bed 2 bath house costs in Fortuna, or Eureka. Then compare that to the same house on the out skirts of humboldt, and tell me it's a myth. Those aren't lawyers and doctors driving those cars/truck with "HOE COE", "Fat Rat" and "humboldt" stickers on them, but those are the rigs parked by the nicest houses. If I grew enough weed to just pay my bills and living expenses. I to could afford to use my entire earned pay check on a house payment. If you don't think that happens you are out of touch with reality. House prices are high in Humboldt because of the HUGE number of growers that have normal jobs, but still grow enough to get ahead.

Unfortunately I was born with these darn scruples, or I would be doing exactly what I know MANY others are doing. Not that I think marijuana is harmful, cause it's not. Just the fact that if I grew, had illegal money, and used that to out bid a working man with legitimate money on a house. I couldn't live with myself.

Daily Horoscope for December 3

Capricorn

With dark Pluto under pressure in your sign, this rather grave mood has been colored by the current state of a relationship. It isn't going as well as you would like, probably because you're feeling distanced. It's an inward-looking phase, full of obstructions, but best not to worry about things that might never happen, nor to stew about problems that are little more than ancient history. It's the festive season, so raise the cup of kindness and help those less fortunate than yourself.
