This service should be privatized.Keep our troopers on the ground and patroling our highways. They want to spend over 100 million on new helicopters, not including servive costs.I say NO.A few were fine, but they just want to grow this thing like any other part of government. We the sheeple of Maryland can't afford such luxury.

That comment has nothing to do with the article. If you or someone you love was in an accident and was flown to shock trauma, how much would it cost? I can tell you that it would not be a bill from the State police. Yes from what I have read some tax money and vehicle registration goes to it, so you do pay some. If you were flown by a private, the person flown would be paying anywhere from 6000 to more than 12000. I think that is more then enough reason to keep the state police operating a medevac system. Take the accident that happened last friday in Bel Air. Three medevacs were needed and multiple trips from what the news said. What house hold could afford 12000 to 24000 for that.
