State police: UP driver kills toddler, flees

Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a 2-year-old boy who had wandered away from his Upper Peninsula home.

This child is related to someone in my family and I want the person that did this to know, you will be found and you will pay.

It could have likely not been a resident Yooper. It could have been a transplant attending nearby Michigan Tech. After all, the students have been known to consume alcohol up there. I hope they catch whoever it was and crucify him or her.

I know the family of the toddler that was killed and can't say enough how disheartening it is to hear this, all I can say is lets hope they catch this SOB and give them whatfor

OMG, how sad; I wonder if the driver even knows that it was a toddler that they hit; at 2, the tod couldn't have been that tall and the driver could have thought they hit an animal

What a sad ordeal to happen to any family. My deepest sympathies to them. I must say however, I agree, a two year old is a very small child and here in the U.P. I have seen some pretty big racoons in my time that could weigh as much as a two year old. It also makes you more aware of where your own children are at all times.
