I know that's right, what the hell putting trash like that on TV. That's all we need is for everyone to think that Levelland is just full of trash.... Drug dealers, dikes, crooks, and the list goes on and on.

All towns have there dirty little secrets. There will always be crime. My mother was a deputy in the 90's in Levelland and she was good at her job. My mother I'm sure if she was still alive would be appalled. It's crimes like this that give bikers and cops a bad rap. They are not all like that. There's allot of good bike clubs and police out there. It's all in the courts hands now.

The sad thing to think about is the amount of good people and kids that they (law enForcement, DEA, FBI) let get hooked on the meth to use them to catch the big fish. If i was the FBI I would poke around in that town a bit longer and shake BIlly MACs tree for some info !!!

I think it's sad that our those two deputies have a fund set up. You know it's wrong what they, especially to the community. Might as well give everyone that got caught a fund too. Having a fund makes the whole thing look worse, and somewhat supports the idea. Let them deal with what they did by themshelves

I remember several years ago an informant from back east tried to report that a great many Levellanders, including some deputy sheriffs, were involved in the drug trade. Sheriff Schulle denied it, and the informant was attacked as not credible, enven though local law enforcment ihad hired him to work undercover. He was too efficient.

When liquor became optional, after Prohibition ended, it was common knowledge that the bootleggers financed the campaigns of the sheriffs. Both wanted to keep the town dry, of course, but not for the ostensible reasons.

Most of the significant liquor raids in Levelland, going back to the 1940s, have been conducted by State or Federal agents. The town is too rotten to keep itself clean. It was no accident that serial killer James Hicks chose to move from Maine to Levelland. Word gets around in the underworld about the safest havens for criminals. That's why the outlaw motorcycle chose to move to Levelland; it is also a good market for their drugs. Levelland has more than its share of tweakers and crackheads.

Levelland never outgrew the oil boom days and never will. Crime still flourishes.
