I think that they should stake out around Haydenville...there's a LOT of drugs around Hocking County, in different areas, but there are a bunch coming out of Haydenville as well. If they'd keep their eye on two or three houses, that'd eliminate a lot of Haydenville's drug cartel.

Since there has been close to 30 people caught in the drug cartel, I think that a bunch of the drug selling would stop if they kept an eye on Haydenville.

We were at Mingo Park the other night and we found a serenge laying in the dirt by the parking lot. Someone's kid could have picked it up! What are people thinking?!
There's WAY too much drug movement through Haydenville, West Logan and even heard of teens smoking dope in Kachelmacher Park. Why can't all this stop?

SO true. I think that it should be mandatory for welfare recipients to be RANDOMLY drug tested. It's not fair to ppl who are decent, working hard to make ends meet and then here come the users and dealers using OUR tax money so they won't have to use their fix money to pay for groceries. It's BULL.

Are you completely retarded? You're calling a couple houses in Haydenville a "Cartel".... Please open up that dictionary. None of these dealers are a threat to anyone other than theirselves. I don't get why people think this, You're in southeast Ohio..not Mexico, or even a MAJOR crime area (LA, NYC, Detroit, etc). Open up your eyes and quit watching so much tv thinking you're in a movie. The people caught here are petty logan dealers, their stashes are most generally barely enough for personal use, let alone to be considered a major drug dealer.

Logan Resident, maybe you should see the other threads made about Haydenville, OH on topix. THEN you may understand why we think that it is a "cartel".
Unless you live there, you have no idea. It's sad that you are taking up for the low lives that are handing out pills and pot to our children.
What a wonderful citizen you are!!
And by the way, I have a full time job and do not like crime shows and I have a wonderful education, so no need for me to open up a dictionary, douche.

All I can say is Fred Moses was the only person who's platform talked about rehabilitation both in substance abuse and mental health. I can't wait for this to open up more job opportunities. I'm sure we all agree that selling drugs isn't a way to make an honest living but... to those who would like to take away benefits for people who fail drug tests you must consider things such as their innocent children who may go hungary. These people need help and sadly enough it takes about three generations to really get families out of poverty and criminal lifestyles. These people need help, they don't need thrown in prison because we really will be wasting more tax dollars while at the same time breeding better criminals. I;ve known of things going down in haydenville and I'll tell you, it isn't just there and it isn't one specific location. Drug abuse is an epidemic that needs to be addressed, especially the prescription medications, amphetemines, and heroin. Marijuana should be the least of everyone's worries considering the margin between an effective dose of a prescription pill and the lethal (or deadly) dose of a prescription pill can be as little as one pill or fewer difference.
I'll I'm saying is this problem reaches further than most people think. Our course of action against drug abuse and dealing needs to be well thought out and safe. If we cut everyone off of their assistance at once all I can say is Hocking county and athens county will see a huge crime rate inflation as the recipients no longer receiving sevices will be forced to survive in a way that is unfamiliar to them.

WOW, I agree that it is best to take children out of that environment as well. Any harm to a child is too much! Sometimes there are other situations where one parent works all day to support the family while the other parent may be addicted to something. There are big issues with co-dependency... how could you take the child out of the home. In most cases a child can thrive if at least one parent is good enough and has a positive influence and healthy relationship. How is that fair to the hard working parent, who works all day, or a couple jobs a day to have their children taken away because of their significant other's drug addiction? I realize that there are exceptions and there are rules but all of these things need to be addressed.

UnitedWeStand, they should leave the significant other for the better of the child. Would you want a child left at home with addicted parent?

WOW, It makes sense to leave the child with the significant other, but that is the individual who in most cases works full time hours or more. And what about the cases where the significant other is not the biological father/mother, and the biological father/mother is also an addict who wants the kids back? This issues expands much further than most people are willing to admit. I hope to see improvement with the way things are taken care of. I am not in complete opposition to your stance, I just think that our system needs to be well thought out. I just want to see the greatest amount of benefit for the largest amount of the population and I'm open to hear whatever it is that might get us to that point.
