I recently served time as a prisoner in Hickman County Jail and would like you to know first hand it might be the cleanest facility with a club med aspect(washer/dryer in pod)Clean showers bathroom rec area, but the organization and staff especially your NURSE is not qualified to be running a facility. Tell me how officers have relationships with inmates, lock downs are for stupid things example. I spent 16 months in the system at 3 other facilities and did not receive any disciplinary reports come to hickman and get locked down for stopping a fight 8 days when 3 girls had sexual misconduct with each other and they got 2 days. Then 48 hours for having a bible on my bed after church did not have time to put it up they barged in and said cell inspection get out of your rooms do not touch anything... ok try to explain they dont care lock you down. the last was for having my blanket fall off side of bed as sleeping and obstructed officers view of cell mate officer took my blanket for the night i froze and locked me down for 24. how is this right. physch meds are not given their reason per captain wasden you are in a confind area and we do not think inmates need them to be zombie like. now this was a quote to my lawyer who was fighting to get my physch med which did not make me a zoombie it took me going to my lawyer and threatening to report to tdoc to get my med. the dr. came and saw me asked me why i wasnt getting it told him the nurse said you would not give it to me to high of a dose he said he did not say that and it was not too high of a dose. This nurse has been accused of give pills to trustees and her husband was already charged with stealing meds as an emt how ironic .. she is the only nurse and is only there mon-fri 10-4pm and does not answer sicks until 4 to 5 days later. no nurse on weekends or at night. This place needs guards that are not scared that want to improve and inmates life and actually talk and be real with the inmates like at other places not just come in when its head count. I could go on and on there is no communication between the jail and the court and they are in the same building the only good thing is the public defenders they are the best i have seen in the state and they care and work hard for you...

Maybe if you were not in jail you could get the meds you want. Stay out of jail and be a productive citizen, not rely on the state or county to give u the meds you want. your still alive aint you?

Good Parent, everybody makes mistakes.Who made you God?I'm sure if you would look around your own doorstep, you could find plenty to talk about instead of poking your nose in something you know absolutly nothing about!

to the (Good Parent)????? I can not believe that you would even post such a statement! What right do you have to even suggest that a person who is in jail has no right to meds? I hope that someday IF you have children that bad things don't befall on them and they need your assistance to help them in such a horriable situation, bad things do happen to good people, we are all human, everyone makes mistakes, you don't even know the circumstances that may have fallen on this family, I can tell you that I have heard and have known people who have been in jail, both for reasons they may have brought on themselves and at times just because the officer decided he wanted to target that person (believe it of not that does happen.) To the parent bob parish, believe in your child, I pray you can find the help that you need to assist him in his need of medical attention, if all else fails, contact the news agencies, Hickman county has had quite a bit of bad publicity over the police department and the handeling of inmates, please do get discouraged or give up, your child needs your help.

Whatever the situation is. He recieves the nessesary meds to live evidently. The Jail medical staff does not give out whatever a convict wants. They do have te right to meds, just not what they want, odds are its a dope addict wanting something to make em feel good.Guess what........ get over it. Like i said he is still alive, maybe not getting what he wants, but it appears he is getting what he needs to survive, not be cozy, happy and comfortable, but survive. Jail is not intended to be a place of comfort and pacification.Maybe if some parents got off the couch or barstool and had a interest in thier kids, thier education, they might not had made the mistakes they made, its called "good parenting". When little Johnny gets to be 18 and goes to jail for drugs, burgulary or whatever, that is not the time to take a interest in the welfare of your kid.Granted some parents do a great job, and the kid still fails in life, guesss thats just how it goes, But there is no need to try to manipulate the state or county into giving them what they want ( not need).Make your kid get a job, dont break the law, and you would not have to worry about your precious child not getting what he wants while in jail.

. No they don't get the Meds they need and I was not an addict they do not give Meds period the jail is not run right your lawyer needs to go to the judge bc what goes on in jAil is not communicated to court. I received my Meds bc my lawyer went to judge and he ordered them. The so called nurse is a joke. She is not there during overnight hours which is a state law and she waits days before answering sick call. I've seen people w diabetes not get there Meds and get sick. You do have rights as an inmate and you good parent. Have a lot of forgiving to ask god for judging a book by its cover. Jail should not make a person a bad person I myself have turned my life around and I am on top of world I am blessed by officer Atkinson and his family and the rev. Who took time to help me. As well as my lawyer. I wish you could be I. There a few days and see you will have a different view. I did and will help anyone in jail to better themselves all they have to do is ask me. You are a self centered fool. And my god some day show u what it is to love and forgive and give chances. I am a college grad and messed up. Just got my masters and I am proud of myself. But the medical staff needs a change a real nurse and someone that doesn't use inmates drugs

Maybe you should take your degree back to where you recieved it, you totally hacked your paragraphd up with mis spelled words and punctuation. Or maybe take your degree and run for Congress so you can make them give your buddies the meds they want! The Jail is inspected every year and passes all mandated requirements. By the state of Tennessee, maybe the nurse you dislike so much is just not giving in to your manipulation tactics? I think thats the case here.

Be a part of the solution not the problem..... If your turned into a productive citizen then great! I do not forgive so easy, I would never hire a thief/rapist/drug dealer, never would I trust one around my family as well. You can claim your saved and carry a bible every where you go, it does not make you holy or a good person, you may fool folks to pity you, but Im not that easy to convince. Its how you react when things get tough, and the odds are stacked against you, then it will determine if you have changed.Dont get on here telling folks how good you are now,lol thats a red flag to tell me you never really are a changed person..., show them..... Your always going to have a bleeding heart sucker to give you what you want thou. Change is from withen

wow u are so closed minded and first and foremost let me tell you I would not judge a book by its cover. People change and I see that on a daily basis w people as for hiring ex criminals centerville police department fire department schools all do so you better think twice before u vote. Second the jail does not meet requirements from state and has failed many times. It does not cost the county or u as a citizen for inmates Meds. If you are a state or federal inmate it is required if held in county that all medical is taken care of. You are charged for your stay dumbass. Each day you arecharged for bed and every time you goto court you ate charged so when u get out you have a fine to pay. As for the nurse she is married to an addict who stole medicine as emt. She is required by state to be all property 24 hrs that does not happen. So u have addicts and drunks running jail

You are so right! Anyone can say they have changed (some do and some don't). My late aunt's husband is a prime example. He had been in and out of jail. He is a thief. He steals from everyone. His parents have finally figured out what a LOSER he is and have nothing to do with him. He always uses the "I have been going to church and am a different person" or "I have changed".Guess what? Its all BS. The only reason he goes to church is to ask for money (not on Wednesday or Sundays when he could be going to worship). He says he is using it for gas. He isn't. It's for his drugs.(If anyone runs into ole Dave, RUN and watch your pockets!) Point is: anyone can say they have changed. I've learned that you take that with a grain of salt. One doesn't do jail time for no reason. If they do jail time, they have broken a law. We all know the laws and we all know the consequences. If you do it anyway, then you don't care about the outcome nor who it affects. Can someone change? Yes. Sure they can, but they better prove it and they better work hard to do so. Don't expect people to just forgive and forget. If you already f'ed up once then be prepared to be questioned. You knew what you were doing when you screwed up. Not being trusted is just part of your actions.

You would think a nurse would know if their husband was an addict and be able to recognize his drug of choice. Something's wrong with this picture and statement you made. You wouldn't think the State would allow the nurse to continue to practice if your statement is true.

There is a lot am finding out about Hickman county jail by reading all the comments and I would just like to add to the one on the Meds. They have a 67 year old lady in there jail that in very much of danger and even though her daughter has called them repeatly to advice them of her many health problems they keep ignoring them. She has not recived any of her Meds and within hours of now they are going to see that she is going to have major problems. I want it to be known that I have posted this. There is a lot to this story and I will be adding updates as they will follow.

Tell her daughter to have her medical doctor to call Sher Randal Ward and the doctor at the local hospital that handles inmate medical issues.

Ah I see now, the county does not pay for the Meds that you want? So I suppose the State does??? correct? Well Einstien, where do you think the money comes from that the state funds the meds ? Taxes, my taxes.Which im sure you been living off my taxes your whole life. Do you think Zoom that lives on the moon comes to the state of Tennessee and gives them money to buy meds for you? I do not support ANYBODY incarcerated getting any type of meds outside of what will keep them alive. Thats all you have a right too. Again keep telling me how good you are and how you have changed........ MANIPULATION! It dont work in my circle...... Go tell it to a bleeding heart who believes you so you can take full advantage of them , Im sure your good at that game.....

you would think they would but you don't disclosure your husband past on application and she knew and supported it. The jail started to figure out her ways like why money was missing from commissary?? Hmm they took that position away fro
Her. My point is the ja does not follow state or federal guidelines such as medical staff on duty 24 hrs. They brush issues until someone challenges it.

you are right some people will never change bc they don't want to and feel its the only way of life. I on the other had was protecting someone and having no record thought I would get slap on wrist. Business person well l known. Blah blah. Wrong and where was that person when I did time no where. I had to work hard to get my life back and I have and very proud of myself. The funny thing is people think jail is full if drug addicts low life's. Wrong. Doctors nurses lawyers business owner. I've done time w all. So it's all part of learning. I had god before I went to jail and continue to have god through the hard times. I work w people now who need guidance and a way to better themselves
