Why were there 400 people in Pure. Were is the code enforser? It seems to me someone better start stepping on a few toes here! I have heard that on several nights you can't even move in there! Is the village of Herkimer going to wait till someone gets hurt to do something about this? I hope to god that the place doesn't have a fire when its over packed! That place shouldn't have more than 80-90 people in it at once!

Isn't this ironic. An arm of the County(HCCC),is responsible for a significant amount of crime and incarceration that costs the tax payers millions. Millions of dollars more are spent to subsidize education, incarceration, and social programs.
Then the county sues the village( taxpayers) who are directly suffering from these policies for not allowing and going along with this cycle to continue.
Remind me again how their tax dollars are being used to enhance THEIR quality of life.
Prime example of government of, for, and by the people gone amuck. We now have in the United States for the most part, a government of for and by the government. A hungry beast that is never satisfied!

And as such, HCCC dictates to the Herkimer Police when and why they can take action against their students. I get this first hand from a member of the security staff from the College. The College is worried about dollars above all else, as is the Village Board. they give these students a wide berth with respect to what they let them get away with.

they sent to blacks to jail for disorderly conduct? but they dont do anything abt the major offenders. and they tased people. the cops love it, im not a fan of the city people at all, but the cops go out there like bad asses and make it worse. they are just as bad as the scum on the streets.

The College isn't to blame for ALL of Herkimer's ills. There are plenty of trash who are local making the Village less than desirable. Main Street is littered with registered sex offenders for instance.
BUT, the College should not be blind to the trouble that stems from their students either. It is blatantly obvious when college is in session. You can tell from the people walking in the streets, acting like they do in stores and restaurants, as well as the cars zipping around the village. This College has become a parasite on its host, our village. Ron Williams did plenty to be blind to it. I had hoped Murry would have been more proactive on it.

If you think it's this bad with scumbag students from Utica, Downstate, NYC and Long Island going to the college and causing troble and crime in the village and surrounding area?
Wait till they build that Correctional facility in the county they've been pushing. Then real criminal scumbags housed there will have their family and friends move into the immediate area and live on welfare and being committing more crime around here. That'll really improve quality of life in the valley.

Sorry but that correctional facility, called a jail, would be housing exactly the same people the current one does now. Most of the people in local jails are, well, locals. You are confusing County Jails with State Prisons, two completely different things.
People move closer to prisons not jails. Jails are short term, less than a year, and most incarcerated in jails are already from the local area anyway.
Yawn. Go back to Uterus, NY.

Here, lets see ihis clears it up for you, if you can read that is:
For some felonies, time can be served in county jail. However, if a person is sentenced to more than a year for a felony, that person must serve his time in state prison.
In the case of multiple felonies, the formulas are more complex depending on the seriousness of the felony, but in general there are limitations on how long a person can stay in state prison.
Families don't move closer to county jails becasue they usually already live near them anyway.

They will build a County Correctional Facility here that is LARGER than what the crime rate is for Herkimer County. The reason?
Many county's lockups are already at over capacity and have to outsource their prisoners to other counties that are running at less than capacity and pay them to do so.
Herkimer is looking to make money off other counties by taking on their overflow of sewer scumbags by building a large facility.
Most of these loser convicts are the income source for their brood of rug rats and ho girlfriends/wives. Since they are in lockup, the family needs to go on welfare and public support. They will move to where their loved one is incarcerated so they can constantly visit them.
Then these families will see how living is so easy in the Valley and will want to stay in the area once their loser family member is released.
And of course there will be Half-Way houses coming to be around the brand new larger county lockup facility too. Another excuse for these shytstains to hang around the valley.
Guess what DOPEY, YOU can have these dooshbags and scum live next door to your home.
The rest of us don't want them.

Dumbasss, OCJ already has the capacity and Herkimer won't be able to board in. Fulton County Correctional also has more than enough room, which is why Herkimer has been boarding there for a couple years now.
You really are a dumb shit. People do not move near jails, period.

Here ya go Dickweed, chew on this. Herkimer's jail is antiquated and overcrowded (think Mayberry jail).
So what are Herkimer's choices?
-Build a bigger jail to handle increased prisoners $37 Million
-continue Boarding out prisoners to other counties - costs Money, in fact more than keeping them in Herk. and a waste of money. Currently about 30 inmates per day.
-release prisoners earlier than their full date to make room for new incoming prisoners, or let go non-violent prisoners in on petty charges like pot possession, shoplifters, disorderly conduct.
In a perfect system we could ship out prisoners to their home counties to serve their time and get them out of town. And we'll take in any of our own county resident losers who are sentenced in other counties.
100% sure there are MORE scumbags from other counties sitting in Herkimer, than there are Herkimer residents in the other counties' jails.

Silly girl, you still don't get it. People don't move near jails. I see you are eating the crow so now you want to change the subject about Herkimer's antiquated jail. What a tard.
Most inmates in the Herkimer County Jail actually are from Herkimer County. Besides, inmates are housed where they actually commite the crimes. Commit the crime in Herkimer County and, duh, you go to the Herkimer Co jail, unless you are boarded out or sentenced to state prison.
Don't worry, when your daddy gets out of the joint he can explain how the system works.
