Henry County Thoughts

Sevento,

You make some good points, but please cite examples where anyone has successfully reversed these trend for violence in communities with high crime rates. I think the number will be few at best. Downtown ATL murders, burglaries, robberies are really show casing what I mean now days. As for "taking a stand" you can if you want, but I have a family to take care of and that is my number 1 priority in life. By the way, what is your definition of taking a stand?

As for the problem following us to the gates of heaven or hell; I'm just talking maybe a county or two over.

Bottomline here is that very few blacks will admit that once they move into a white area in large numbers EVERYTHING goes downhill. Countless examples of this can be given just within metro Atlanta. I am all for intellectual honesty but it only works if the people who cause the problem take responsibility.

People like yourself need to quit blaming everything that happens in their cities on black folks. Granted there are some who create trouble but there's just as many white folks who do their share of dirt too. A criminal is a criminal regardless of the color. As you can see from recent incidents, you can't run to the hills because crime is there also. And not always comitted by blacks. We all need to get pass this color barrier and accept people for who they are. When will you stop running?
Let's just face the truth, areas of Metro Atlanta with high levels of blacks in the population tend to be unsafe places to live. That's why a lot of black people have left there. That doesn't mean that there aren't a lot of good black families that live here in Henry county, because there are, but a lot of violent people from Clayton have moved here, most of whom are black.

I have lived in my Henry County neighborhood for 8 years and we still have a nice little mixed neighborhood. But, what tires me is the fact that African Americans are always blamed for everything that goes wrong, this is sickening. I can recall just a little while back there were a few break-ins going on in our subdivision, and wouldn't you know it - some idiot blames the blacks - but the blessing was that the homeowner had surveillance and found it to be a young white fella who lived near the subdivision and was friend with the homeowner - he received a slap on the wrist - by the way. Most of the offenses/crimes that white people commit are not reported - this is a fact. You really have to be just plain old stupid to think that crime is a one race thing.
One of the earlier posts mentioned that the black race is barbaric - what about white people gathering to lynch people of color - is not this barbaric? How about chaining a person of color to the back of a vehicle and dragging him - is this barbaric or not? I could go on but you get the point - I hope - in all your infinite wisdom that you get the point.
As far as pushing people of color out of Henry County - well you are doing a good job - part of the same reason America is going bankrupt...too much hatred and why? As long as it suits you hatemongers - continue to kick black children out of the schools and place them into alternative settings, continue to take a single mother who has never had a blemish on her record (I hope you know that every person has a criminal record - even though they may have never done anything - it is sitting waiting until you do) well she was charged with a misdemeanor after being in an accident and not being able to pay her $500 deductible - which she tried to clear up AFTERWARDS - but unfortunately the racist manager of the collision center denied that - stating that if he helped her he'd have to "help all ya'll, and so I'ma just let the law handle it" - oh and back to the racist judge - who would not allow her to explain that she had been in an accident and tried for more than 4 months to resolve the issue and now she can't get a job with that check fraud conviction on her background report - especially being that her entire work background was in the financial sector. Only by the grace of God is she still able to pay her bills from savings that are quickly running out. Continue to spread your hate - you too will some day have to answer for all your wrong doing...And that racist judge had handed down a conviction that has all but ruined the life and career of a single college educated African American mother, who has one son she is still raising - while the other is in the military fighting for this piece of a country - but I am so sure that you could care less - not one of you has any remorse when something as wrong as this is experienced....unless of course it happened to someone in your family and the table was turned and they were wrongly charged/convicted by a racist African American judge, whew-doggie - spit and cuss words will defintely fly - you would call that judge every kind of "N" word that you could think of and he would be unjust and barbaric no doubt.....you hatemongers are pathetic.

Just moved back to henry county from college. Demograohics probably 60% - 40%. Low crime rate nowhere near Clayton or dekalb crime rates. schools need to be a lot better there is a shortage of teachers resulting in furlough days and shortage in police recruits. Leaning towards more of a gwinnett than anything. But gwinnett is worse than Clayton county crime is quadrouple that of Clayton.

My family lived in Clayton County from the time it was first settled. We did not have a single murder in Morrow for 90 years. Do you really suppose the actions of morally bankrupt WHITE society is the cause Clayton's current and Henry's growing ills? We don't live there because we can't. Clayton County is not enjoyable, decent, convenient or safe. It makes most of those who saw DeKalb and Clayton circle the drain want to dump their Henry houses for 50 cents on the dollar and refuse to be helpless spectators of the ugliness, bad governance and crushing decline to come. Why shouldn't we leave? Can the recent and numerous residents offer anything positive to those that built this community? I am not waiting for my lawn furniture to be stolen, my car jacked or for my home to be invaded while I watch the evening news. After all the responsible taxpayers move on, remember, you broke it, YOU fix it.

I do hope that you realize, that through the racism colored glasses you currently wear that the rediculous things you say make you sound like someone stuck about fifty years in the past.

I'm a young white female who has grown up in henry county my whole life, and actually enjoy it. And that's because I love my pulic school in which I attend and I love the people that attend it and I love how so many people get along and that the majority of the disagreements that happen between me and other students aren't ones based out of race or nationality but out of a clashing of each individual's personality. And I have in fact, distanced myself from many friends who I came to clash with when their racism equal to yours became apparent. On top of that I plan to attend Clayton State College next year and am very excited about it and find it wonderful that there is a college so close to my house.

So as you and many like you continually endure on their 'white flight'. Just remember, that although you find yourself so mightily special and smart, run as much as you like, because people that aren't white do own cars, can buy houses and do live in suburbia and will continue to be entwined and very much needed for true growth and prosperity to take place. So run if you like, but you'll be running yourself out of civilization. And the farther away from civilization you find yourself closer to barbarianism and stupidity.
"This used to be a nice neighborhood until those damn white people moved in" said no one ever. Think about that
