The immoral preyed on the infirm and attacked him at his weakest, taking advantage of a man who was emotionally vulnerable.

How is that any different than the moonie or hare krishna cults doing it? Cults always look for the weak, their claims can't withstand the questions of the enlightened and educated.

They gave him a crutch, which is a good thing, if he was in need of being propped up.

But make no mistake these purveyors of life everlasting, these pushers of prenatal sin, will happily cripple any and all, so that they may be on hand to offer again, that same crutch.

If you read the article he really wasn't an Atheist. Maybe an agnostic but not an Atheist. From early on he always questioned evolutionary theory. He may have been against organized religion to a point. None of this made him an Atheist.

The fact that he changed his views so speak because people of faith were generous to him shows this uncertainty as well. Its like up until that point he questioned the concept of god but now since he saw that religious people can be loving and giving that god must exist. That shows that he feels good morals must come from a high power rather than ones self.

I take some encouragement from the fact that people formerly religious become atheists every day, and it isn't considered newsworthy, but an atheist becoming a christian is so rare it merits a big news story. Thousands of planes take off and land safely every day, no news. One plane crashes, big news. Same idea.
