Don't give in to these lowlifes. They have nothing better to do than attempt to strong arm Christians in to obeying them. Keep the Nativity Scene. It's in our Country's roots.

What exactly does that mean? You have not presented any reason why you say these things. You Sound like somebody who knows very little, but starts the argument anyway. Way to go. You're setting yourself up for failure and humility.

The government should not be spending taxpayer money for a religious display. It is un-constitutional. If you want a religious display then pay for it yourself and put it in your home or church. How would you feel if your tax dollars were spent on a display that worshiped Satan?

Well actually Davy, this Nativity scene is not owned by Henderson County, it is owned, and put up, by the Keep Athens Beautiful Project. This is a non-profit org. that is made up of volunteers. Get your facts straight, then perhaps someone will take you seriously. You have not only set yourself up for failure and humility, you have executed it in textbook fashion. Way to go! Whoever contacted this poor excuse for an org in Wisconsin should have complained themselves. Sounds like a coward to me. Anyone else share these same views?

So if I pay for it can I put up an exhibit exalting Satan or do you just want government to pimp YOUR religion? You sound like a freedom hating republicunt.

You're attitude is a dangerous one, Davy. You're trying to be different. Do the right thing.
Yes you could raise a banner exalting satan on it. It probably wouldn't be there long. This country had deep Christian roots. This government has deep Christian roots. Don't do the different thing. Do the right thing. You're outnumbered on this one. The Nativity scene WILL stay. Bottom line. It's a done deal. As sure as there's a mustache in Mexico, it will stay until Christmas is over, and probably a few days longer just for good measure. What do you believe in, Davy? I would like to know.

Someone in your town needs to contact your commissioners and tell them to lease the spot that it sits on to the non profit group (Keep Athens Beautiful). We in Brookville Indiana had the same group (FFRF) do this to us last year and we followed the law to correct it. One we leased the spot, two the display can not be the only one or the bigger one so we decorated a tree in the court house lawn. If your commissioners contact ours they can get more details. Good Luck

And one more thing they claim it was someone local who reported it to pit neighbor against neighbor and cause division don't let them play this on you. They go out and seek towns to cause trouble in. Next year it will be some other small town with the same MO

I believe in the freedoms guaranteed under the constitution. You seem to hate the freedoms our constitution gives us. You want government to prop up your religious delusions with my tax dollars. If jesus is so great then why does he need welfare money? If you want a religious display then put it up in a church. I believe that there should be no establishment of a religion by a government. Just like the bill of rights says.

We also ask for everyone in our area to put up a nativity displayed we have at least 20 down Main Street and we are just a small town. On the front page of the local paper this week Brookville American/Democrat wrote "We will hold our first ever Nativity Weekend beginning on Friday night a town that's awash in Nativity scenes of all shapes, sizes and descriptions". I want to thank the FFRG for all the good they brought to our little town. Last year we had sermons on main where some who may never heard the Lord's word got to. So much good has come from this for the Lord and our area God will take the bad and make it good if you let him.

Thanks anonymous.
Davy, you keep saying 'my tax dollars'? It is common knowledge that it is non-profit org. that has put the Nativity scene up. Even the FFRG isn't playing that card. WOW. At least now that I've heard. But, I do realize that, at this point, you will say anything to defend your views. You have ran out of ammunition long ago. You're reaching down real far to attempt to justify your view. It's not working. Would you explain this Jesus on welfare thing please. I have no idea what your are talking about. You have a distorted view of the constitution.
