Charges sent to grand jury in case of children who drowned

Henderson County General Sessions Judge Steve Beal sent all the charges against Lara McDowell to the grand jury following her preliminary hearing this afternoon. via The Jackson Sun

Why wasn't there a fence around the swimming pool?If the neighbor was so worried about 2 young children playing around a swimming pool why didn't she check it out before buying cigaretts and a coke?

I think what is relevant here is the fact that this mother did have a history of not watching her kids. There are numerous police reports in Houston County Ga of this happening. Those two kids roamed around our neighborhood all of the time. The mother was asleep in the home while the kids were playing in the street in front of their house, down the road, in other peoples yards and anything else they wanted to do. This happened over and over. People talked to the mother and the father about what was happening. It still happened. Their mother always gave the impression that she didnt care.She never acted surprised or shocked that her kids were found out of the house roaming the neighborhood. It was more like she was being bothered or harassed by nosey neighbors. At the time this was a 2 year old girl and a 3 year old boy. This was an awful thing that happened to these kids.

Trixie - Unbelievable that you would try to make it sound as if it was somebody elses fault they did not check out the kids playing around the pool. They like everyone else probably assumed the mother had enough brains not to let a three and four year old kid play outside without ANY adult supervision while she "as said in previous articles" was inside asleep on the couch with her boyfriend. WHAT PARENT IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD DO THAT????? So you could also blame me because instead of calling the authorities the time I found them on my back porch (the little boys completely naked and the little girl naked from the waste down) at 5:00 in the afternoon while she slept I only threatened instead of calling the authorities that day. There were many other times when I and others did call and look what still happened. Trixie - nobody to blame here but that "no other word for it" - UNFIT -mother of theirs.
