Very interesting story of Major Cecil Brown. Where did you get your information? I am Major Brown's nephew and "Aunt Cecil" was quite a blessing to the people of Haywood county. However many items you wrote about her are incorrect. If you would like to hear the real story contact me.

Info from locals who knew and worked with her, her niece, a book entitled Smoky Mountain High, and her handwritten diary from 1936. I do not know how to contact you. E-mail address on my column

Daisy Cecil Brown was my great grandmothers first cousin . Her grandfather was my great great great grandfather. I have been wandering around Hurricane Creek and Max Patch and studying about the Brown family for a long time. There is a comment on here that somwone knows of Cecil Browns Diaries. Would it be possible for you to share the information with me?
