If you really followed this case you would find out that they got the wrong guy. The original witnesses testified that they were drunk and high on weed and prescription drugs. They admitted to the cops that they picked the wrong guy.

They all picked the same person. That can't be just coincidence. It's not like the witnesses were allowed to discuss their decision before picking him out of a line up.

They were just scared. The one guy said he didn't go out there with the victim, his "friend", because his sisters told him not to. Really??? With friends like that, who needs enemies? Nobody wants to stand up for what's right anymore. Coker did it.

Hey! I just saw this case today on the First 48 and if I am a member of the jury this guy is GUILTY. How can different people pick him and be wrong? Give me a break! I don't think they picked the wrong guy, I think there is something wrong behind all this.

I have just seen this case on The First 48 (I love this show) and I was shocked when I read that charges had been dismissed. In all the cases I have watched there is none where a suspect is soooooooo
guilty. He played dumb, asked the detectives question to find out what they had and on top of that three different people picked him from a photo lineup. How can they be wrong? Give me a break! I am sure that if detectives had got a search warrant they would have found the murder weapon.

Just watched this case on 48 hours and if Coker is innocent then im the king of the world. The jury must be insane if they let this murdering piece of scum get away with murder. If one person had been a witness I might believe it was mistaken identity , but theres no way it was with as many witnesses picking him out.His lawyer must be real proud she helped free a killer, lets hope he dosnt kill someone else, and If he does then she shoud be charged aswell..

There was no jury. Charges were dismissed, which means he didn't even make it to trial. If there had been a jury involved, he would have been acquitted.
If witnesses started backing off their stories, then that's probably why they had to droop the charges...at least until detectives get something more substantial.

The witnesses were probably intimidated. Hopefuly the kid will wake up and stop gangbangen. He got a second chance. Something the kid he killed never had.
Watching him in the car on the way to get a poly you could see he was guilty as all get out.

Just saw a rerun of this show and this is a sad case. A 16yo lost his life and the man arrested is now free. Mistaken identity. That may be the case. Only God knows. If he did it, he cheated justice. but if he didn't do it, I hope and pray that he indeed changes his life. He did spend 3 years behind bars.
Now a lot of people want to know how can 3 different witnesses be wrong. They can be. I worked in the Criminal Justice field for 10 years. I know of a man who was convicted and sentenced to life in prison, but the witnesses all gave conflicting statements. So if 5 people can give different stories but yet a conviction is handed down, then surely 3 witnesses can be wrong also.

Investigators dropped the ball on this one. The murderer was reported as being with 9 or 10 others. Yet they went after the one guy. Had they sought out one or some of the ten he was with and pressed them for info they would've had a solid case and likely several more defendants. In leaving the suspects crew in tact the investigators failed to provide security to their key witnesses who were already so scared they had the door barricaded with a chair even though there were a large number of them and they knew the others had run off.
This guy seems guilty and its frustrating knowing he had threatened someone else's life that same day and said he was no where near there. It definitely feels like the justice system failed the victims family on this one. It's also shameful that his defense attorney is glorifying her clients release on her self promoting show while she claims to not be downplaying the gravity of the victims death.
