HC School Board approves budget, awaits federal funds

The Haralson County Board of Education passed a spending resolution for July in the recent board meeting held Monday night.

We must stop this school board from voting in a property tax increase. At the meeting tonight they suggested a 1 mil rate increase. They did NOT offer any suggestions for cutting any expenses except for teacher salaries. They should be cutting the bus barn expenses. We cannot let this happen!

I do not understand WHY the school system is broke.Have you looked at your poperty taxes--The school's portion???????? It is absolutely rediculous!!! I'm am outraged!I'm ok with the counties portion.THANKS SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS who voted this rate. The county as awhole gets nowhere near the revenue the school board gets ( The school is its own intity and can set the rate at any rate they choose). I have a feeling we are going to vote in a whole NEW board.This WHOLE COUNTY IS OUTRAGED!!!!!!! Exspecially the elderly-For heaven sake they are on a FIXED INCOME. And the rest of us are in a RESESSION!!!!!!!!!
