Sad very sad. Tallapoosa only has Stoffel Seals left as one of the employers that has been around a while. Honda built the transmission plant, but it in no way makes up for all the jobs lost in Tallapoosa over the past few years.

Just be sure that people understand why jobs leave our country. It isn't cheap labor elsewhere, it's our insane tax structure that punishes the manufacturers and makes their goods more expensive on the market. The only way to counter that is to get very cheap labor. No company wants to move overseas, but it's a matter of survival. Politicians, and yes, Obama, too, say they're going to make it harder for companies to move overseas while, in reality, they and their taxes are the reason companies do so. Sad. Just be sure you understand that when you go to the polls next time. It's the only weapon we have. |
