My condolences go out to the family. What a horrible tragedy. This should never have happened and poor Alicia is without her Mom and Dad.
Spikes need to be put on the exit ramps, so if someone happens to go out the wrong exit, they won't get very far.

Where is God at a moment like that? Testing the faith of an 8-year old whose heart is still wounded from the loss of her mother...how can someone get past that? I would say 'pray for her' but I don't believe it helps , especially when the A$$hole that caused the wreck walks away from it. He'll NEVER be able to pay for what he's done while he's alive.

This scum bag should get the death penalty. But he wont,he will get out in 5-10 years and kill again.Kill a dog in virginia and you get more time, sell some pot,get more time, kill a human with a hand gun, more time, with a car its ok.I hope in the end maybe this little girl will get justice with a cival suit to atleast be sure this scum never has anything. If you drive drunk and take a life it should be an automatic life sentence, period.

A man has lost his life and daughter seriously injured, due to a young man driving the wrong way on the interstate. When you have evidence that alcohol played a factor.I do not understand he has not been charged.

Are you referring to the young girl that spent about 3 months in jail, just to return to her former habit? The judges and commonwealth attys. shoud stop plea-bargaining with said lawbreakers. They get less time than someone who runs naked through their own home.

This brings back too many bad memories. Me and my children and one of their friends were hit head on by another driver coming the wrong way on Chippenham. I was however, able to see him coming down the ramp the wrong way and was able to slow down and slightly turn to avoid a direct head on. We were then hit in the rear. My Honda was totaled - hit on three sides. THE DRIVER THAT HIT US, TOOK OFF OUT OF THE VEHICLE. We all thought we were going to die. The wreck still haunts us and I have a permanent mark on my arm from the airbag/steering wheel. The driver of the other car was either high or drunk cause he paid no attention to those RED markers on the side of the road. Something has to be done to stop this wrong way drivers. I feel soooo sorry for the daughter. She will never forget this and it will be hard to get over. My prayers are with the family as this type of accident could have been prevented. Reading this brought tears to my eyes - that poor child. Thank the Lord she was asleep and didn't see it coming. My 17 year old son that was in the front seat has no desire to drive or get a license due to the accident cause he saw the JERK coming towards us. At least the little girl was spared that much. Loosing both parents so young, I have no clue how she feels but pray she will recover and be able to go on - it will be difficult. Again, something has to be done with posting the WRONG WAY better than just sign - maybe those road spikes that trigger when a car goes the wrong way - stop the car before it takes another life. (sorry for length but this story opened healing wounds).

I can't imagine loosing two parents...especially at such a young age. My thoughts and prayers go out to this young lady. I know that her family will wrap their arms around her. I am in tears because of your loss.

When you see the video of the crushed car, it is amazing how, despite the extensive damage, the passenger seat, where Alysha was sitting, seems to have been spared. It is as if God or Alysha's mother was hugging her to protect her. I pray that she has a speedy recovery and will be able to find peace.

I'm so sorry for this little girl and her family. I was only a dozen cars back from this accident. When I saw the car I was hopeful that because of 2 ambulances leaving the scene that maybe the person in the red car somehow survived. If anyone who knows the family and is able to post it, can we find out where we can send money and gifts to her? So very sad. I can't imagine here it is, her birthday and she just lost her dad on top of losing her mother only a short time back. This is so unfair, she is just a little girl. I wish nothing but the best for her and pray she heals quickly and finds the strength to be ok somehow.

No funds have been started as of yet, but the school was working on something as of today. I will post again when arrangements have been made. Thank you.

So the driver, Nicholas Sickal, has been charged with manslaughter? Bullshit. As far as I'm concerned, this is MURDER. I'm tired of criminal trash like him getting behind the wheel after they get drunk. Everybody KNOWS that drunk driving kills, and yet the scumbags of society continue to do it because the punishment never fits the crime. If we lived in a sane world, the punishment would be either life in prison at the very minimum or, ideally, the death penalty.

Bill was our uncle by marriage and was my cousins father. We are very sad & shocked about the whole event. Misty & alyshia have lost their father to a terrible tragedy. May god be with them during this time & help misty raise her baby sister as she has lost her mother & father within just a few years.I hope that the Commonwealth of Virginia will show the young drunk punk what time it is & serve Swift Justice.

Dear Nick: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths." Proverbs 3: 5-6 Know that we are praying for you and your family during this hard time. Though you will have to pay the consequences of your actions, if you keep the Lord first, I am certian He will make things turn around for you and the little girl whos life has been drastically changed. Know that there are people who do care for you and your family and love you very much! **GOD BLESS TO THE SICKAL FAMILY AND THE GOODE FAMILY!**

It is unfortunite that this happen we all make mistakes. The real owner of the car Paul Bruce Ingle, 1100 White Pine Drive Chesapeake, Virginia 23323. should have noticed that bill was awake all day also and perhapes a good nights sleep before starting out might have helped save a life but then if it wasn't Bill it would could have been some one else. The owner should not be held responsible all he did was loan Bill his car.
