As bad as we would all like to have the "old" Diamondhead southside back, I do not think it will happen in my lifetime. We have great, amazing memories of watching the sky turn "red" over the marsh as the sun set, and watching the moon come up over the marsh on a cool october night. And in the Summer - Watching my kids load onto the boat for an amazing day on the Jordan. Or just sitting on the deck and watching the fireworks at the Magic of the 4th of July. It was a great place to live. But those days are gone with the wind. It is so sad to see that wonderful waterfront property just sit there in such a sad state. I know there are those few who have rebuilt, but I am sorry to say to those few...our neighborhood will just never be the same. Get out while you can. Let it go. Allow jobs, income and beauty back to the Main Canal.

The majority of Diamondhead is for the Casino. The only people not for it is the Elitist POA organization that mostly lives on the South side. The other 99.9 percent of the subdivision that lives on North of I10 is for it since it would bring business and raise our property values.

We need as many jobs as we can get in this community. Let the casino come in and help us with our tax base and provide jobs for our young people. They will also help with charity things that need funding. Most casinos are very good neighbors.

I believe the whole community would benefit from the purposed casino. It would help with jobs, housing values, tax base and added amenities for Diamondhead.

The Diamondhead neighborhood is very pretty and quiet; however, if I were to move to that area, I would not consider purchasing a home there because of the casino. Do other's who could afford a home there have the same opinion? Some state their home values will go up, but will people want to purchase your home with the casino so near?

Well now look at the comments. I have been here since 2003 and love the area. If someone wants to gripe about anything just take a look at the Northeast side of Diamondhead in particular the trailor village we have. Habitat for the Humanities is great but that is where the Growth seems to be at present. I am also concerned with granting permits for Mobile homes on the South side of Kapalama just around the corner from Keno St. which interects with Kapalama. Give me a break, what are you people doing????? Get a Casino, a City and get rid of the Good Ole Boys .
syndrome. Stop feathering each others beds.
I have plenty more as do others like me. Thanks for listening.

I'm listed, call if you dare.
