What can be done by residents that will be listened to by the Building Department?

As I understand it the request for a variance goes there first and Planning and Zoning rubber stamps what Building recommends and City Council rubber stamps what Planning and Zoning recommend.

We need someone in the Building Department to make sure the zoning issues are addressed and enforced!

How has Waveland managed to do this and Bay St. Louis has not? Can we hire the head of the Building Department from them?

Do the residents of BSL have to hire their own lawyer to oversee and evaluate the Building Department recommendations?

A special use permit does not change the zoning. The zoning remains in place. In this case said property was, and remains as, Residential.
If indeed the building permit was issued for this project, the permit is illegal - thus null and void.
As for the protests from Ms.Read and Dock of the Bay, in the form of ignorance of the Law as a defense... so sorry: ignorance is NOT a defense with respect to the Law.
What is happening with this? My friend lost his house close to this and I am wondering if he should even try to rebuild.
Put on your big girl pants, and be prepared to be sued.
What is happening with this building?
