Are Hamilton Co. Circuit Courts Mediation Divorce Agreements Being Upheld???

During my divorce, finalized in Dec. 2008, we were told me had to attend mediation pursuant to the Hamilton Co. Local Rule 10.06 Family Law Mediation. My ex and I attended the mediation and we both paid a substantial fee for this mediation. My ex is now angry at me and is refusing to follow our agreement for the care of our daughter, who will pay certain expenses, etc. I had to hire another attorney and file a contempt case against my ex. My attorney and people in the court appear to think that the court will not uphold the mediated agreement. Why??? If we are required to attend mediation, it makes no sense that the circuit court would not uphold the agreement. I would like to ask if you have encountered the same problem, please contact me. Why are we required to attend mediation if the courts are not going to enforce the agreements that come out of these "required" mediations? Why pay this additional expense? Are we being ripped off by an unenforced rule? Who do you contact to file a complaint or bring this problem to the attention of the proper authorities? Would love to hear about your experiences and opinions.
