So, was this officer there as part of his official duties or was this on his own time?

So what did he do? Who did he offend? How about the entire story?

I wonder how many times this joke arrested someone for drunk driving. I'm sure he's not the only joke of a police officer that drinks and drive!

Because he is a police officer does not mean he can not drink and enjoy himself sometime. Its funny that this made the news since he was not on duty. By the way i did not see the news investigate the outcome of all the intoxicated folks that got arrested at the SPEEDWAY.

Chris you must remember that Public Intoxication and Driving While Intoxicated are very different. Public Intoxication you are not placing other people's life in danger. You jumped too the conclusion that this Officer was driving?

I knew this day would come, but I expected worse than a P.I.
I encountered Darin Benson when I was a trouble-making teenager about twenty years ago.
I'll never forget him pulling me to the side where his fellow officers couldn't here him say, "I going to get every last one of you, line you all up, and shove my *insert perverted remark here*".
I was 16.
Do you remember this, Rosco?

Darn shame.. But we are all human.. Alcoholic beverages effects different people different ways.. He must have been really screwed up for the police to arrest a police officer.
Lot of cops are drunks. Most of them are sure they can badge their way out of a jam.

Because he is a police officer means he is held to a higher standard and CAN NOT GET ARRESTED.

You really don't know much of anything do you?

You should be more concerned about all the arrests at black expo.

Sheliab, where do you get "no jail time?" If he was arrested for PI then he was taken to jail and would be eligible for bond once he was alcohol free (typically not more than 12 hours).

Hey "In the know" Why dont you leave his dad out of it you low life. Your better than everyone else huh? Never made a mistake? Lets check out your closet and probably could have arrested you a few times. Darin is down on his luck right now and needs a little help from his fellow brothers. I pray for you Darin. I know what a fine officer you have been and you just need to get things arranged in the order they should be in. We (your fellow officers) are praying for you. From "LT"
